AVON -- Emma J. Bushnell (nee Raimondo), 85, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at her daughter Stephanie's home in Avon, following a brief illness. She was born in Los Angeles, Calif., and lived in Manhattan Beach, Calif., for 50 years. She moved to Avon in November 2005.

Mrs. Bushnell starred in the 1939 Ice Capades and acted in films such as ''Anna and the King of Siam'' and the original Charlie Chan serials. She was married briefly to Allan ''Rocky'' Lane, an actor who had his own television show and comic book and was perhaps most famous as the voice of ''Mr. Ed.''

Mrs. Bushnell later moved to Hawaii, where she met her second husband, the late John Bushnell. She was active in the Beach Pixies (Children's Home Society) and with the Sand Pipers. She enjoyed dancing and had competed in dance contests. When she was 75, she took up line dancing in Manhattan Beach several days a week.

Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Bushnell-Morenberg of Avon; sister, Olga Noor of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; and a niece, a nephew and two grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John David Peter Vincent Bushnell, in 1988; and her parents, Benjamin and Jesse (nee Cantello) Raimondo.

Memorial service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Grace Community Church, 12365 Grafton Road, Grafton. The Rev. Ed Wishart, pastor, will officiate. There is no funeral home visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to North East Ohio Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Inc., 9555 Brookpark Road, Parma, OH 44129; or Alzheimer's Association Cleveland Area Chapter, 12200 Fairhill Road, Cleveland, OH 44120.

Arrangements by Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Elyria.
