CHARLESTOWN TOWNSHIP - The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a one-vehicle accident that occurred just before the intersection of Charlestown and Hollow roads Wednesday afternoon.

According to state police, a four-door black Honda Accord, driven by Adam Cooper, 18, of Pottstown, was traveling west on Charlestown Road around 4:30 p.m. March 15.
The Accord, upon rounding a right-hand curve, hit the right side of an embankment, landed on its roof, and skidded to the intersection. The car slid approximately 60 feet to the intersection of Charlestown and Hollow roads.
Upon arrival, fire officials found the vehicle at rest in the intersection, facing westbound.
Cooper told state police, "I was coming around the curve and lost control of the vehicle."
Cooper, along with his passenger, Kevin McCafferty Jr., 21, of Phoenixville, managed to free themselves from the vehicle by kicking out the vehicle's windows.
Both individuals sustained cuts and abrasions that didn't require treatment.
Along the roadway, several skidmarks were apparent, as well as one of the vehicle's windows knocked out.
The Accord, which sustained major damage to its roof, was towed from the scene by Abel Brothers Towing, Malvern.
Officials had the accident cleared and the roadway re-opened within 30 minutes.
Assisting at the scene were Kimberton Fire Department and Spring City Rescue Squad.
