"There are other victims," Supervisory State’s Attorney Andrew Wittstein said. "There are going to be additional counts. Some occurred in other geographical areas than this."
Brown is suspected of unlawfully entering at least three homes. Brown knew the homes and the residents and took a large amount of items from each house when no one was home, Wittstein said.
"He didn’t know there was a camera watching him," Wittstein said. The residents showed the video to state police and Brown was arrested. "This was not a prank," Wittstein said.
Judge Heidi Winslow ordered Brown to have no contact with the victim and alleged victims listed in an incident report that was provided to Brown’s attorney A. Thomas Waterfall.
"He has no criminal history, no treatment history, no problems at school and no disciplinary history," Waterfall said during his argument for a promise to appear.
"There is nothing that suggests a violent nature here and nothing that suggests he stalked or assaulted anyone," he said.
"Under the circumstances you are not to continue attending school at Lewis Mills," Winslow said. Brown is scheduled to return to court on March 8.
Brown allegedly entered the house on Village Lane in Harwinton through the "doggie door," Wittstein said.
The family set up a video surveillance unit in their home after several suspected break-ins to catch the burglar in the act.
Brown’s family allowed state police to search their home.
Police allegedly seized two pairs of women’s underwear related to the burglary of the Village Lane home, according to court documents.
