She says she’s ready for this season’s "Survivor" because her sense of humor helps her get through difficult situations.
Tesauro may need all the humor she has, as she and other competitors will be split into these two teams, each of which must work to find food, water and shelter in order to exist.
Unlike previous episodes, in which "survivors" brought changes of clothing and luxury items with them to the island, these 16 are only permitted the clothes on their back.
Hosted by Jeff Probst, this season’s tropical rivalry will take place amongst the formerly uninhabited Pearl Islands in the Pacific Ocean. Braving Panama’s rainy season as well as the dreaded tribal council, the 16 Americans will vie for the title of Ultimate Survivor as well as the $1 million final cash prize.
Viewers will be on the edge of their seats this season as the show chronicles the relationships and conflicts that develop as these 16 strangers test their limits in various challenging situations.
At the conclusion of each episode, the participants form a tribal council and conduct a secret-ballot vote to expel one of their castaways from the tribe. Once the competition is narrowed to two finalists, the show’s ultimate $1 million winner will be selected by a panel of the seven previously expelled participants.
Last season’s "Survivor," based in the Amazon, ranked No. 8 among all network programs with an average of 19.97 million viewers at the conclusion of the 2002-03 season. Producers expect this season of "Survivor" to be equally as popular.
The premiere episode of the season will air from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 18.
