Raechel Mesenbrink, 24, Ames, was eastbound on 190th and attempted to turn north onto X Avenue. At the same time, another vehicle, operated by Clyde Joseph, 21, Boone, tried to pass, causing an accident in the intersection. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $300 to Mesenbrink's 1991 Pontiac and $300 to Joseph's 1994 Lincoln Towncar. Joseph was charged with unsafe passing, failure to have insurance, driving while barred and dark windows. While investigating the accident, another vehicle stopped with no plates. Operator, Jeffrey Courtney, was arrested for driving while license revoked. 8:59 p.m.: Tammy Viers, 49, Madrid, was arrested for OWI, second offense, after a reporte of a reckless driver in on Hwy. 17 near Madrid. Tuesday, Oct. 16 9:41 a.m.: Deputy responded to 38 270th Street, Rippey, on a complaint by a Greene County deputy who was at the residence. Arrested was Jay D. Wenger, 19, of that address. Wenger was wanted on a Dallas County warrant. Because county road signs were located in his home, Wenger was cited by Boone County for possession of traffic control devises. Several signs were taken as evidence and will be returned to the Boone County Road Department. Wednesday, Oct. 17 3:04 p.m.: DOT employees picking up garbage along Hwy. 30 came across medical-related bio-hazard materials (gloves, needles) scattered by traffic from Boone to the United Community School area. Because DOT is not allowed to touch such material, sheriff reserves and Boone County Search and Rescue, along with State Patrol were called to clean. The items may have fallen from a vehicle that picks up this type of material. Investigation is continuing. Thursday, Oct. 18 1:35 p.m.: A juvenile was charged with fifth degree theft after money was reported stolen from a cup in a home in the 1900 block of G Avenue, Ogden. 3:01 p.m.: Deputy assisted Boone Police with a two-vehicle fatality accident in the 400 block of W Eighth Street. Saturday, Oct. 20 7:05 a.m.: A vehicle was reported on its top at 335 and Duck Street north of Perry. It appeared the driver of a 1989 Ford Bronco had lost control and rolled the vehicle. Driver had left the scene. Investigation is continuing. Perry Fire and Ambulance also responded. 9:08 a.m.: Juveniles were reported throwing fire crackers at vehicles along Hwy. 17 north of Luther. No juveniles could be located. Sunday, Oct. 21 1:44 a.m.: Jordan Pressler, 19, Eagle Grove, was arrested for OWI, first offense, after a traffice stop on Hwy 169 south of Ogden. Pressler was traveling on the wrong side of the roadway. 2:44 p.m.: Adian Conine lost control of his Ford pickup and went into the ditch near the bridge at Tilley's Hole northwest of Boone. Conine was cited for failure to maintain control and no proof of insurance. No damages or injuries were reported. 3:57 p.m.: Duane Townsend, Ogden, reported kids throwing rocks along Hwy. 30 near the Des Moines River Bridge. A rock struck and broke his windshield. The boys were located and parents notified. An agreement was made for parents of the nine-year-old boys to pay expenses. 11:27 p.m.: Deputy located an open door at Perry Country Club. |
