Heroes saluted during 2008 Chetek homecoming week

The Chetek High School homecoming court was selected last week. They are left to right: Josh Haas and Vanessa Schultz, Shawn Sanders and Ashley Vogel, Tyler Kedrowski and Robyn Beuthling, Jake Frazier and Elaine Antieau, and Kyle Hetke and Amber Masters.
Chetek High School alumni, staff and students will celebrate homecoming next week with the theme Homecoming Heroes.
Festivities are planned Monday through Oct. 3. Highlights of the week's events include a powderpuff football game Monday from 7-8:30 p.m., with a bon fire following. A boys volleyball game is scheduled in the high school gym from 1:05-2:05 p.m. Tuesday.

Oct. 3 is homecoming, beginning with a coronation ceremony in the high school gym at 8:35 a.m. and ending with the football game versus Northwestern at 7 p.m. The homecoming dance will finish out the week Oct. 4 from 8-11 p.m.

The homecoming court was selected last week in preparation for the events. Classes vote for the king and queen. The court is: Josh Haas and Vanessa Schultz, Shawn Sanders and Ashley Vogel, Tyler Kedrowski and Robyn Beuthling, Jake Frazier and Elaine Antieau, and Kyle Hetke and Amber Masters. Their parents, activities and future plans follow:

Josh Haas - Justin Haas and Jodi McCracken; varsity football, basketball and track; attend a four-year university with a major in athletic training;

Vanessa Schultz - Steve and Tina Schultz; poms, track, Spanish club and National Honor Society; attend a four-year university for graphic design or nutrition;

Shawn Sanders - Pat and Jo Sanders; Future Business Leaders of America, Spanish club, pep club, baseball, basketball and football; go to a university and major in computer science, then get married and grow old with a wife and kids while playing football or baseball;

Ashley Vogel - Patti Vogel; volleyball, Future Business Leaders of America and Spanish club; go to college, play volleyball, get married and have kids;

Tyler Kedrowski - Tim and Vicki Kedrowski; football, wrestling, track and Future Business Leaders of America; become a firefighter or smoke jumper;

Robyn Beuthling - Corey and Jodie Beuthling; softball and Future Business Leaders of America; attend college;

Jake Frazier - Brian and Beverly Frazier; football and wrestling; play college football, get a degree in sports medicine, get married and have two kids;

Elaine Antieau - Joe and Renee Antieau; poms, volleyball, Hydroflites and Future Business Leaders of America; go to college, get married, have kids and get a good job;

Kyle Hetke - Dan and Sue Hetke; football and track; get an education, get a good job, get a wife and be successful;

Amber Masters - Kevin and Colleen Masters; volleyball, track, forensics, Future Business Leaders of America, student council, band, choir, pep club and National Honor Society; go to college, get a good job in the health field, get married and have three children.
