Tribe routs Yankees, 12-3, in Game 1, LeBron bails out JIM INGRAHAM, Morning Journal Writer 10/05/2007 They returned with all the subtlety of a cherry bomb dropped down someone's chimney. Like, oh, say, the Yankees? Turning Jacobs Field into their own personal boom-boom room, the Indians body-slammed the Yankees 12-3 in a Game 1 of their Division Series that was wall-to-wall exhilaration for the postseason-starved Tribe fans. How sweet was it? The Indians chased Yankee starter Chien-Ming Wang from the game in the fifth inning, and they chased LeBron James from the game in the sixth. Cleveland's traitorous NBA icon, Yankee cap conspicuously missing from his million dollar head, beat a hasty retreat up the aisle from his seat behind home plate in the sixth inning, moments after Travis Hafner sent a blistering drive into the seats for the Indians third home run of the game. We were all witnesses. LeBron concedes.
