Fundraiser this weekend for Mike Lavigne
CLIFTON PARK - Family and friends of a Stillwater native diagnosed with a devastating neurological condition are reaching out to the southern Saratoga community for support.
Mike Lavigne, 33, was a 6-foot-2-inch soccer player at Stillwater High School before graduating in 1996. In April 2007 after noticing several small physical ailments he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

Shen superintendent offers vision for district
CLIFTON PARK - The Shenendehowa School District needs to transition from a traditional educational system to one geared for the 21st century if its graduates are to be the captains in a global economy and not just participants.
Shen superintendent L. Oliver Robinson made the statement to the board of education last month as he presented his vision for the district's future direction.
