    Thanks for your support
In Easton the Town Clerk is elected every two years. During my eight years in office, and especially at election time, I have taken the opportunity to "walkabout" the community to introduce myself to residents. It is a time to say "thank you" for your support and to listen to your concerns, viewpoints, ideas and suggestions. I have always been welcomed with "open arms" and this year is no exception.
Throughout the years the same theme continues to occur, "keep taxes low". Therefore, as a public official, resident and taxpayer, I am especially pleased that during the last eight years I have been able to respond to this message by improving efficiency, reducing costs, and transforming the Town Clerk's office from a tax burden to a revenue source.
Most residents may never have a need to visit my office. However, I can assure you that, as legal custodian of all of your records, including birth, marriage and death certificates, deeds, mortgages and mortgage releases that they are now immediately available, and in order, should you require them. I have devoted endless volunteer hours to developing the management and technological systems that improve document processing and retrieval efficiency, to make this possible.
With your support I will continue to work to reduce the cost and time of record processing with technology and operational enhancements at no cost to the taxpayer.
I look forward to continuing to serve as your Town Clerk and ask for your support on Nov. 3.
    Derek Buckley
