NEWINGTON - The mission was simple for Newington heading into Friday night's game with Hartford Public: End its three-game losing streak and win its final home game of the season. Mission accomplished.

One group of seniors knows only the succulent taste of victory against its rivals. The other knows only the sour taste of defeat. One group of seniors knows nothing of suffering a losing season. The other knows nothing of enjoying a winning season.

Newington's own Jaclyn Grant was one of six Keene State soccer players selected to the Little East Conference's All-Conference team. The senior captain earned first-team honors for the second straight season.

Andrea Almeida was selected Western New England College's Female Athlete of the Week Nov. 11. The sophomore midfielder found the back of the net three times in the Commwealth Coast Conference Tournament, helping her team to a runner-up finish.
