MIDDLETOWN - Today could be a pivotal day for the fortunes of the Middletown Spartans on the field.
The semipro football team will host the New Hampshire Wolfpack at 4 p.m. at the Thomas Serra Sports Complex at Vinal Tech.

Palmer grounds crew gets MVP award

The Most Valuable Players in the State Legion Tournament were the folks who make up the Park and Recreation Dept. grounds crew at Palmer Field. Nowhere else -- absolutely nowhere else -- would the games have been finished on time as they were.

RCP draws Hamden in opener

MIDDLETOWN -- The Connecticut State American Legion Baseball Tournament will open tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Palmer Field with a distinct local flavor. RCP, the Zone 7 Champion based in Cromwell, takes on Hamden (19-9), the second-place team in Zone 2.
