The Missourian In Education Summer Reading Program begins in the May 29-30 issue of the newspapers. Young readers, ages 6-13, are invited to follow an 8-week serial in the newspaper and return an entry from.
Everyone who returns the completed entry form gets a free ticket to the Washington Town & Country Fair for Thursday, Aug. 5. We'll celebrate all of our readers at our Reader Recognition Night, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Family Fun Center. Click

The Mission of Missourian In Education and Record In Education
~ Introduce newspapers to students in classroom settings as a living textbook.
~ Provide teachers in-paper content and curriculum relevant to the classroom and of value in meeting academic goals.
~ Provide training for area educators in the effective use of the newspaper in the classroom.
~ Promote the importance of civic literacy to Missouri's young citizens and provide resources to achieve.
~ Promote the value of reading and the newspaper to parents.
~ Promote journalism education to ensure the future of a free, ethical press and healthy democracy.

How Teachers Can Participate
The Missourian and The Record with support from community partners, provides classroom newspapers, curriculum and training at no cost to area teachers. Classroom subscriptions are available from September through May. Summer school subscriptions are available beyond these dates upon request.
The Missourian In Education program provides classroom copies of the weekend Missourian, delivered to schools on Monday. This issue includes all youth features.
The Record In Education program provides classroom copies of the weekly issue of the Warren County Record delivered to schools on Thursday. This issue includes all youth features.
