Local author, freelance writer and music director, Paige Byrne Shortal, has written a day-by-day booklet titled "Live Lent at Home: Daily Prayers and Activities for Families" about the season of Lent.
If nasty weather counted as a criminal offense, then the number of felonies committed in the Missouri region would be quite simply mind-boggling. Crimes from the skies would result in a rap sheet beyond the ability of mere mortal meteorologists to compile - and the antics of Jesse James and his outlaw band would soon be forgotten.
"I've never outgrown horses," Chris Stuckenschneider admits. "I love to smell them, touch them, just be around them."
She could say the same thing about books, and probably has.
