The Spanish American War Period involved two conflicts. The first occurred from April 22, to December 10, 1898, and the Philippine-American War from February 4, 1899, to July 1902. Because of a conflict over the U.S. and Mexican border, the Mexican government declared war with the United States on April 25 of 1846 and on May 11, 1846, the United States Congress authorized the president to call up 50,000 troops.
After trying to remain neutral, the United States entered the war on April 6, 1917, because of submarine attacks on our commercial shipping vessels. The war unofficially ended November 11, 1918, but a state of war existed until the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919.
The Black Hawk War began April 1832 but the origin of this conflict is rooted back into 1804 when a band of Sac Indians had a winter camp near St. Louis.

The War of 1812 was also known as the Second Revolutionary War. Most of this war was fought against the regular British forces in Louisiana and the East Coast. This war lasted form 1812 to 1815.
