WAA Gift Gallery Opening Friday WASHINGTON DEPOT - The Washington Art Association will open Focus: Art and Design, the organization's annual holiday gift gallery, Friday, November 27, at 4 Bryan Memorial Plaza.The event provides an opportunity for area residents to support the arts in Litchfield County while saving on sales tax, which, owing to the Art Association's not-for-profit status, will be waived each Saturday until the event concludes on December 24. | Ornament Class WOODBURY - The Parks and Recreation Department will host Linda Zukauskas to demonstrate how to make Lithuanian straw Christmas tree ornaments from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, at the Rec House, 7 Mountain Rd.First made in Chicago more than 70 years ago, these decorations are an American twist on the traditional art of Lithuania, which uses wheat or rye straw. Those attending may bring their own pencil, a long sewing needle, scissors and ruler. All other materials will be provided. The cost is $20 for residents and $25 for nonresidents. | WOODBURY ARTIST EXHIBITS IN OAKVILLE - Woodbury artist Peter Seltzer, whose paintings in oil and pastel can be found in public, corporate and private collections across the country, will host an open studio exhibition from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, November 21 and 22, at The Old Pin Shop, 20 Main St., Oakville.
