Gingerbread Village noted in Middlebury MIDDLEBURY - St. George's Episcopal Church in Middlebury is preparing to host a modern day Christkindlmark. Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, the 42nd Annual Gingerbread Village and Christmas Bazaar will open. The village will exist for a limited span of time, closing on December 12. Come and decorate your very own Gingerbread Cookie, stay for Lunch and browse through the handmade crafts, pewter tree ornaments, and Christmas decorations. Full Story 
| Festival of Holiday Trees set in Roxbury ROXBURY - The Friends of the Roxbury Senior Center will host their fourth annual Festival of Holiday Trees from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, December 5. Luminaries set along the road from the Town Green to the Senior Center on South Street will guide families and friends from the Town tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. to the festively decorated antique barn next to the Center. | Author signings to feature at book fair SOUTHBURY - Book lovers will have the opportunity to buy books autographed by Amos Oz, Alice Mattison and Allan Appel and others at the Book Fair at B'nai Israel in Southbury from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 22. They can also hear Mattison and Appel, who are both prize-winning authors, read from their books at 1:30 p.m. There is no admission charge. Full Story 
| Benefit for Spiotti planned for November 22 WATERTOWN - A benefit for Wolcott Police Officer Bryan Spiotti, a life-long resident of Watertown, will be conducted from 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 22, at The Red Door, 675 Main Street, Watertown.There will be food, a live band and raffles. | Glebe open house to celebrate the holidays WOODBURY - The Glebe House Museum will celebrate the start of the holiday season with an evening of food, wine and a silent auction, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, December 4, and an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 5.The museum will be decorated for a Victorian Christmas with the Gideon Botsford's, the silversmith and his family who lived at the Glebe from 1798 to 1866. Guests who purchase tickets for Friday evening will be treated to cocktails and hors d'ouvres at a preview party to benefit the Glebe House Museum and Gertrude Jekyll Garden. The Pomperaug Garden Club of Woodbury, the museum director and a small group of volunteers will create many of the holiday decorations to be displayed in the candlelit 18th century house museum. The decorations will be available for purchase along with additional items at a silent auction. Full Story

| House tour to be conducted in Woodbury WOODBURY - The Woman's Club of Woodbury will present its 15th annual holiday house tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 12. The snow date is Sunday, December 13.Featured this year will be four homes dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries and two homes more recently built in the Colonial style, in keeping with Woodbury's long history.
