Keane to play soccer at Dana

HARLAN -- Harlan Community senior Shelby Keane recently signed a national letter of intent to join the women's soccer program at Dana College in Blair, Neb.

Shelby is seated next to her mother, Kelly Keane, of Panama. Back row, L to R: HCHS boys soccer coach Tony Vis (standing in for girls coach Zach Klaassen) and Dana women's soccer coach Shad Beam.

Keane plays defender for the Cyclones, who finished the 2008 season with an overall record of 5-10. HCHS advanced to the regional semifinals in postseason play before losing a 2-1 decision against Denison-Schleswig.

In the fall of 2008, the Dana women finished 9-9-1 overall and 6-5-1 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. (Photo contributed)
