“Chair Yoga/Yoga of the Heart” classes will be offered at Open Spaces Yoga Center starting Feb. 5. This class is designed for less active adults, senior citizens, cardiac patients, cancer patients or individuals with life threatening diseases. The classes emphasize deep relaxation, imagery, gentle stretching, meditation and holistic awareness. Many of the yoga stretches are done while seated in a chair. The class atmosphere is nurturing, very gentle, non competitive and serene. Participants will be encouraged to honor themselves and bring awareness to their bodies while they relax, rejuvenate, heal and have fun.
