Funeral services for Betty June Bremer, 76, were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3 at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington, Minn., with Rev. Richard Ricker officiating. Interment was in Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Benson Funeral Home, Worthington, Minn., in charge of arrangements. She died October 30, 2009.
Betty June Bremer was born on June 21, 1933, in Worthington, Minn., the daughter of Hosea and Anna (DeFreese) Griswold. She atttended school in the Worthington school system. While in high school, she worked at Worthmore Ice Cream, was a summer lifeguard at the lake and played in the city band. After high school graduation, she worked at Silverberg's Department Store in Worthington, Minn., and then moved to Denver, Colo., in 1951. While in Denver, she worked at Porter's Clothing Store. In 1952, she moved back to Worthington and married Worrell Bremer at the American Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker while traveling with Worrell as he built churches around the area. They moved to Round Lake, Minn., and she worked for Sather Cookie Company for 25 years. She and Worrell retired together. She is survived by her husband, Worrell of Worthington, Minn.; two daughters: Barb (Jim) Wendling of Darwin, Minn. and Lori Anderson of Richfield, Minn.; four grandchildren: Ross (Jessica) Wendling of Dassel, Minn.; Kyle Wendling of Hutchinson, Minn.; Melissa (Matt) Reed of Fairbault, Minn.; and Jeff Anderson of Wells, Minn.; one great-granddaughter, Norah Wendling and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Bremer of Luverne, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Geneva (Griswold) Wyer; and two brothers-in-law.
