Marie Daggett, 89

      Funeral services for Marie Daggett, 89, were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 8 at the United Methodist Church, Lake Park, with Jennifer Hesebeck and Al Kuiper officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Harris, with Turner Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lake Park, in charge of arrangements. She died October 3, 2009.
      


Marie Daggett was born on November 29, 1919 near Sanborn, the daughter of Albert and Etta (Pietens) Kuiper. She was baptized in the First Christian Reformed Church in Sanborn, on December 28, 1919. She attended school in Sanborn.
      On December 14, 1937, Marie married Wilbur Daggett in Ocheyedan. Over the years they lived in the Hartley, Ocheyedan, Harris and Lake Park area where they farmed and raised their family.
      In July 1975, Wilbur died and Marie then moved to Lake Park with their son, Rodney.
      She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lake Park.
      She is survived by three sons: Dennis and wife, Adela of Sarasota, Fla.; Dale and wife, Rita, of Apple Valley, Minn.; and Ron and wife, Bobbe, of Prior Lake, Minn.; two daughters: Elaine and husband, Robert Mayden of Windom, Minn. and Barb Paul of Spring Valley, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Louis and wife Katherine of Sioux Center; brothers-in-law: Daryle Daggett and wife Violet; Gary Daggett and wife, Lavonne; sisters-in-law: Hazel Kuiper, Caroline Kuiper, Letty Daggett all of Sanborn, Dorothy Daggett Perry of South Fork, Colo.
      She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbur; son Rodney; son-in-law, Terry Paul; four brothers: Clarence, Bert, Carl, Tony and two siblings in infancy.
      The family has requested that memorials be sent to: Hilltop Care Center, 1912 Zenith Ave, Spirit Lake, Ia.; Iowa Hospice, 1370 Lake St., Spirit Lake, Ia.; The American Heart Association and The Kidney Foundation.
