Rita Campbell Scott, 76, died of lung cancer Jan. 31, 2007, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland. She was a retired employee of Mound Bayou School District after 30 years and was a resident of Mound Bayou.
Mrs. Scott was born Jan. 31, 1931, in Johnsville, Ark. to Dave and Ethel Campbell. She was a member of Wanderer's Home Missionary Baptist Church in Mound Bayou.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Survivors include her husband, Booker T. Scott of Mound Bayou; daughter, Gale Scott of Mound Bayou; three sons, Vinaris C. Scott of Clarksdale, Oscar King Jr. of Mound Bayou and Will Scott III of Salamanca, N.Y.; brother, Lindell Campbell of Cheyenee, Wy.; and three sisters, Jannie Williams of Chicago, Ill., Beatrice Washington of Aurora, Colo. and Rosetta Henderson of Denver, Colo.; step-daughter, Jennifer Richards of Mound Bayou; and two step-sons, Donald Williams of Waxahachie, Texas and James Ingram of Three Rivers, Mich.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 at Delta Burial Corporation in Mound Bayou. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 10 at Wanderer's Home Missionary Baptist Church in Mound Bayou with the Rev. Bobby Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Wanderer's Home Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Delta Burial Corporation in Mound Bayou.
