Sigaty family reunion was held Saturday, June 24, at the summer home of Myron and Nan Sigaty on Roy Lake. Matthew and Anna Kirchnoff Sigaty, who homesteaded south of Eden in the 1880's, was the first Sigaty family in the Dakota Territory and were the ancestors of the families at the reunion. The site of the 2006 reunion was on part of the Michael and Mary Burjan Sigaty farm, which at one time encompassed much of the north side of the Roy Lake shoreline and was Myron's boyhood home. Among the attendees were 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generations, some who still live in the area.
Visiting, walks, photos, genealogy, and reminiscing were enjoyed by the families. Medical information was collected to begin a database of health history.

Leone Crouse, Mound City, MO, and Francis Sigaty, Webster, two of the siblings of Michael and Mary Sigaty, who have attended prior reunion were unable to attend due to health situations.
The next family reunion will be held the last Saturday in June, 2008.
