Oral Interp Contest Nov. 5

The local BHHS Oral Interpretation Contest will be Thursday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 in the bandroom. The guest critic for the evening will be former BHS teacher and interp coach, Karen DeVine. Winners in each of the seven categories will represent Britton-Hecla School at the regional contest on Nov. 17 at the Ramada Inn in Aberdeen. Competition will begin with poetry. Tomi Lynn Jones, Morgan Wood, Katie Wegleitner and Sarah Hinman will entertain with their poems. Drama will be next with Ramy Hagen and Tomi Lynn Jones performing. The humorous division will follow with Andrew Wietgrefe, Natalie Allcock, Carrie Wegleitner and Cassidy Elsaas presenting their funny stories. Amy Leigh Jones and Katie Sorensen will then read in the dramatic prose category. The team of Allison Landmark and Leah VanderVorst will begin the duet round. Natalie Allcock and Hattie Erickson will follow. Oratory will be next with Katie Sorensen, Hanna Olson and Hattie Erickson competing. The evening will close with the readers theatre of Katie Sorenson, Katie Wegleitner, Natalie Allcock, Emily Monsen, and Andrew Wietgrefe. The public is welcomed to attend any or all of the performances. Please call the coaches, Gretchen Christenson or Virginia Anderson, if you would like performers at your meeting or event.
