Langford Elementary and Junior High instrumentalists competed in the South Dakota Bandmaster's Music Contest on Saturday in Webster. Students prepared solos and duets for an adjudicator, which gave them written comments and a rating. Brent Ogren received a superior plus rating for his baritone solo. The following received a superior rating for their solos: Shelby Price; clarinet, Kristen Erickson; flute, Amber Ogren; trumpet, Savannah Bivens; clarinet, Brady Wieker; trumpet, Ryan Kramer; baritone, Tate Jensen; trombone, Jordan Carson; alto saxophone, Jenae Carson; clarinet, Toby Barker; alto saxophone; Justine Sanderson; alto saxophone, Chase Larson; baritone saxophone and Nicole Svatos; flute. Receiving excellent ratings for their performances were: Brady Hoines, Tory Hoines; percussion duet, Drew Planteen, trumpet, Bo Fries, trumpet, and Tess Williams, James Pierson, percussion duet. Students are under the direction of Laurie Darling and Kelly Wieser.
