The South Dakota Nonprofit Enhancement Project is pleased to announce that Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program has been awarded an $8,500 grant to assist with staff development, and financial management training. NESDCAP provides services to communities of all sizes in a twenty-two county area in South Dakota. This grant was presented through the South Dakota Nonprofit Enhancement Project's capacity building grant program. The purpose of this grant program is to assist nonprofit organizations from across South Dakota with building their core capacities through programs focused on marketing, strategic planning, financial management, fund development and technology. Fifty-five nonprofits received grant funding totaling $350,000 from this program. According to Bob Sutton, President of the South Dakota Community Foundation, "The demand for this capacity building grant funding from all areas of South Dakota was tremendous. It is clear to see there is a need for technical assistance in the nonprofit sector." "We are pleased to be the conduit to provide such funding, and look forward to working with additional nonprofit organizations in 2010." Sutton said. The South Dakota Nonprofit Enhancement Project is a program administered by the South Dakota Community Foundation through a grant from the Bush Foundation in St. Paul, MN. The South Dakota Community Foundation is a public, non-profit organization established in 1987. Earnings from more than $100 million are available for distribution for non-profit, charitable and scholarship purposes.
