A Marshall County Women's Sports Event is planned for Saturday for women age 12 and older who want to get hands-on experience and develop skills in outdoor activities.
The event will be held at Fort Sisseton from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and is sponsored by the Marshall County Sportsmans Club. A $40 fee includes lunch, use of all equipment and program materials, and entrance to Fort Sisseton.
Attendees can learn about GPS (Global Positioning System) from Lori Rabenberg, basics of photography by Karen Mikkelson, master gardening by Sandy Hastings, boat safety from Corey Carlton, tomahawk throwing from Karole Chapin, fishing 101 by Dave Andrews, and trap shooting from Brian Bard.
Guest speakers include Rich Hoops on trapping and Rita Trygstad will show her collection of pheasant photos and the stories behind them.
Anyone with questions or wishing to register may contact Lynda Luttrell (448-5452), Karole Chapin (448-5452), or Julie Lenius (448-2762).
