State Volleyball Tourneys Set

      State volleyball tournaments will get underway on Thursday with the Class A and B events in Watertown and the Class AA tournament in Brookings.
      Class AA pairings match top-seeded Aberdeen Central (21-1) against eighth seed Huron (10-13) at noon. Fifth-seeded Rapid City Stevens (15-9) meets fourth seed Sioux Falls Washington (15-8) at 1:45 p.m. At 6 p.m. third seed Watertown (17-5) meets sixth seed Rapid City Central (12-10), and at 7:45 p.m. second-seeded Sioux Falls Roosevelt (20-3) plays seventh seed Sioux Falls Lincoln (10-12).
      In the Class A tournament number one seed Wagner (31-1)takes on eighth-seeded Custer (22-10) at noon, fifth seed Elk Point-Jefferson (22-5) tangles with fourth-seeded Platte Geddes (24-4) at 1:45 p.m., third-seeded Milbank (22-3) plays sixth seed Sioux Valley (23-6) at 6 p.m., and second-seeded Sioux Falls Christian (22-2) meets seventh seed Mobridge-Pollock (23-7) at 7:45 p.m.
      Class B matchups pit top-seeded Arlington (31-1) against eighth seed Andes Central (20-10) at noon, while fifth seed Parker (25-5) meets fourth seed Mt. Vernon (24-1) at6 1:45 p.m. Third seed White River (29-4) battles sixth seed Highmore-Harrold (24-6) at 6 p.m., and second-seeded Warner (28-2) plays seventh seed Lemmon (26-7) at 7:45 p.m.
      Venture Communications, in cooperation with South Dakota Public TV and SDN Communications, will partner to bring the state tournaments to Venture communities. TV viewers will have the opportunity to choose the tournament they wish to watch with the Class AA event on channel 400, the Class A tourney on channel 401, and the Class B tournament on channel 402.
