**ANITA GUY Anita Nelson Guy was called to her heavenly home on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Dougherty House, Sioux Falls. Her celebration of life was held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Veblen with pastor Harold Watrous officiating. Burial was at Britton Cemetery, Britton. Pallbearers were Anita Luce, Allen Buss, Scott Buss, Waylin Buss, Shannon Guy, Willie Fish, Aaron Buss, Harl Oland, Randall Buss & Philip Adajar. Honorary pallbearers were all her great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren. Anita was born October 6, 1924 at Claremont. She was the daughter of Adolph and Maud (Pierson) Nelson. She was baptized at the Methodist Church of Claremont. At one year old her family moved to the Houghton area where Anita attended rural and town schools and finishing at Groton High School. She participated in many school plays at Houghton. Rev. H.A. Oerke confirmed Anita at Trinity Lutheran Church of Houghton, where she had also attended Sunday school and Luther league. Anita was a 4-H member of Houghton. In 1941 she started a lunch program for the first school hot lunch program for Houghton Elementary and High School until her marriage in 1942. Anita married the love of her life, Carvin Guy of Hillhead at Scandinavia Lutheran Church parsonage, rural Bath on February 27, 1942 with Rev. H.A. Oerke officiating the ceremony. Anita and Carvin started their ranching career by purchasing the former Weslander Homestead near Hillhead, naming it Hilltop Ranch. They brought up four lovely children, Karen, Arlyce, Gerald and Rita into the world while they lived there. Anita and her children worked side by side with her husband Carvin to build up the Hilltop Ranch and raised registered Shorthorn cattle. Anita lived on the Ranch for 63 years. In 2004 Anita moved to Britton after her husband Carvin was called to his heavenly home, April 19, 2001. From October 10, 2009 until November 7, 2009 Anita was residing at Bethany Meadows, Brandon. Anita had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aide, holding office positions, including president. She taught Sunday School for many years and was secretary and treasurer. She also sang in the church choir. In 1996 Anita with her family joined Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Veblen. She was a member of the circles of WELCA and held office positions in the earlier years. In 2004 she joined the First Lutheran of Britton. Anita was an active 4-H leader and very active in the Veblenettes Club for many years. The club promoted many activities to help others in the community and schools. They also held many benefits for people in need. They did a lot of crafts, which Anita thoroughly enjoyed. She was an avid reader of especially spiritual and other good books and material on health issues. Anita was very interested in genealogy. Carvin and her spent a month in Sweden to visit all of her father's family in 1982 for their 40th anniversary. Anita has always cherished her deep friendship and keeping in contact with all of her relatives. Anita had many of her children's friends call her Mom. She loved watching clouds, birds and all of God's creation provided for us to enjoy. Anita is survived by her son: Gerald (Georiga) Guy daughter Rita (Wes) Ford, 8 grandchildren: Shannon, William (Amber) Fish, Anita (Buss) Luce, Allen Buss, Scott (Tammy) Buss, Waylin Buss, Aaron (Shasta) Buss, Harl (Janice) Oland; 12 great grandchildren: Carvin, Dannica, Randall (Melissa) Buss, Philip Adajar, Eli, Ava, Augustus, Gunner, Marshall, Thressa, Issac, Linne!a; 4 great-great grandchildren: Evan, Hunter, Gavin & Carter; a brother: Carroll Nelson, several nieces and nephews, 4 sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law. Anita was preceded in death by her soul mate husband, Carvin Guy, two daughters and their husbands: Karen (Wayne) Buss and Arlyce (Harley) Oland and one grandson: Randy Oland. Her parents: Adolph and Maude (Pierson) Nelson, paternal and maternal grandparents, 3 brothers: Alvin, Marvin and Arvid (Zelma) Nelson, a sister-in-law: Leona (Carroll) Nelson and a brother-in-law: Hurshell Guy. Rev. Craig Grams officiated. Private family burial was held at Groton Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. Ed died November 7, 2009 at his home in Claremont. Edward Robert Neff was born February 5, 1939 in Aberdeen to Robert and Hazel (Kimball) Neff. He attended rural school graduating from Claremont High School in 1957. Ed enlisted in the National Guard and served for several years. On June 23, 1963 he was united in marriage with Janet Tullis in Groton and together they made their home in Claremont. Ed owned a service station in Claremont and later worked for Harms Oil Company, SD Wheat Growers and Brick Propane. Ed was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton and the Claremont American Legion. He was a collector of antique tractors and belonged to the James Valley Two Cylinder Club. He enjoyed gardening and sharing produce with friends and family. Ed had a love for animals and took care of many both in town and on the farm. Survivors include; his wife; two children, John, Pierre and Jennifer (Walter II) Bauer, Aberdeen; two grandchildren and two sisters, Sandy Tullis, Groton and Marilyn Thoreson, Aberdeen. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother-in-law. www.paetznick-garness.com **LISA OLSON Lisa Marie Olson, 43, Aberdeen, died Monday, November 9, 2009, suddenly from heart failure at the Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen. The funeral service was held Friday, November 13 at St. John Lutheran Church, Warner, with Rev. JoAn Nagele officiating. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Langford at a later date. Lisa Rosonke, daughter of Jerome and Malee Rosonke, was born December 10, 1965, in Rice Lake, WI. At age 9, she moved with her family to Warner. In 1984 she graduated from Warner High School. Lisa went on to attend Northern State University in Aberdeen, when she met her husband Brent Olson. On March 7, 1992, Lisa and Brent were married in Langford. At the time of her passing, Lisa worked as a field representative for the U.S. Census Bureau. Lisa enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed collecting penguins, do crafts and crocheting. Survivors include; her husband; two children, Blake and Malee; her parents of Mansfield; two sisters, LaCinda (Howard) Tilton, Casper, WY and Kimberly (Alan) Rausch, Humboldt, one brother, Dr. Bradley (Cathy) Rosonke, Fountain Hills, AZ; her parents-in-law, Harlan and Karen Olson, Langford, and brother-in-law, Stuart (Karen) Olson, Watertown.
