**HAROLD FOWLER Harold "Harry" Fowler, 74, died August 17, 2009 at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls. A memorial service was held today, Wednesday, August 19 at Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls. Survivors include his wife, Jean, Sioux Falls; his children, Pam (Steve) Gehring, Aberdeen, Lori (Tom) Farber, Britton, Brent (Lisa) Fowler, Sioux Falls, Sheri (Brian) Driver, LeMars, IA; nine grandhchildren and two great-grandchildren. **MYRON MUTH The funeral for Myron "Mike" Muth, 78, was held Friday, August 14 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Britton, with Rev. Chris Prumm officiating. Music was provided by Mary Zuehlke, organist with special music by members of the Ogren family. Burial was in the Britton Cemetery with military honors presented by Britton Post #80 of the American Legion and Marshall Post #3507 of the V.F.W. of Britton. Price Funeral Chapel, Britton, was in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were Philip Muth, Ryer Hagen, Matt Muth, Tony Leonard, Keith Ogren, Dennis Fagerland, Alan Darling and Ken Thompson. Honorary casketbearers were Heidi Hagen, Holli Leonard, Sara Buer, Mike Daly, Mark Daly, Maleia Buer, Brody Daly and all of Mike's many friends. He died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Avera-St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen. Myron Peter "Mike" Muth was born October 8, 1930 on the family farm in Pleasant Valley Township of Marshall County, SD, to Philip and Anna (Tiedemann) Muth. He grew up there, attended rural Pleasant Valley School and graduated from Kidder High School in 1948. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Britton. After receiving his education Mike worked on the family farm. On March 29, 1953, he married Joyce Stave. That next December, Mike was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, TX for the next two years. Following his honorable discharge from military duty, he returned to farming. They remained on the farm until moving into Britton in 1999. At that time Mike went to work for Horton where he remained until 2007. Mike was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Britton and served as an elder and president of the congregation. He was one of the original members of the North Marshall Fire Department planning board and served on the board of directors for many years. He had served on the boards of the Pleasant Valley School and Cenex, as well as a township supervisor for several years. Mike was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had been a member of the Sportsman's Club and was a champion trap shooter. He also belonged to the American Legion. Survivors include; his wife of Britton; three sons: Michael (Karen) Muth, Britton, Randall (Pam) Muth, Sydney, Australia, Chuck Muth, Britton; one daughter, Kathy (Jim) Hagen, Britton; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Joyce (Ehlert) Ogren, Langford, and Marlys (Robert) Koch, Louisville, KY; and two sisters-in-law: Ellen Muth, Glen Carvin, IL and Deanna Muth, Britton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers. **JOHN NEAL VIG John Neal Vig, 80, Veblen, died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Tekakwitha Care Center in Sisseton. Funeral services were held Monday, August 17 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Veblen with Pastor Harold Watrous officiating. Music was provided by organist Coleen Halverson, soloist Jerry Nelson and the Ole Olson Trio. Burial was in Veblen Cemetery. Frank Family Funeral Home, Lidgerwood, ND was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were John Sweetmilk, Joel Vig, David Vig, Jeremy Deutsch, Joshua Vig, Jesse Vig, Troy Larson, Colin Vig, Kaleb Vig and John W. Danaher. Honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters Kelsey Vig, Brianna Vig, Kendra Deutsch, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandsons and four step-great-grandchildren. John Neal was born September 25, 1928 at the homestead to John J and Nellie (Nelson) Vig. He attended school in rural Veblen. He worked for an electrician and various other jobs including an implement shop mechanic. On December 21, 1948 he married Elda Mae Bessler. He started farming and continued until his retirement. His farming activities included milking cows, raising hogs and chickens, and growing crops. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He also served on the Veblen school board for a number of years. He loved his family, visiting friends, dancing, playing the accordion and was a 'jack of all trades'. Survivors include his wife; his children Darrell (Lois) Vig, Lead, Jeff (Denise) Vig, Sioux Falls, Cheryl (Ron) Deutsch, Brookings, Dennis (Beverly) Vig, Veblen, Sandra (Bill) Danaher, Port St. Lucie, FL' John F. (Darla) Vig, Brookings; sister, Doris (Roy) Sweetmilk, Veblen; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Vig, Langford, Lorraine Vig, Veblen; 10 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
