ROBERT "BOB" JURAN
      The Mass of Christian Burial for Robert "Bob" Juran will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eden, with Rev. Fr. Andrew Knop, celebrant.
      Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery of Lake City, under the direction of the Price Funeral Chapel of Britton.
      Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church, with a 7:00 Rosary Service.
      Bob died Monday, June 22, 2009 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND at the age of 90.
      Robert Ernest Juran was born January 15, 1919 on the family farm in Lake Township, near Long Lake, Marshall County, SD. He attended Lake City schools.
      In 1940, Bob joined the U.S. Army and served until 1945, part of that time being spent in the Aleutian Islands.
      He married Magel Mary Haggerty on July 9, 1946 in St. Paul. They made their home there and Bob worked for Western Electric. In 1948 they moved to Lake City to the original Juran farm. They remained there until 1957 when they moved to Magel's family farm where they continued their farming and livestock operation. Magel died September 13, 1989. Bob remained on the farm until 2005 when he moved to Greenleaf Assisted Living Center in Sisseton.
      Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake City, and served on the building committee when the new church was built. He was instrumental in establishing an endowment fund for the cemetery. He had served on the DuMarce Township Board and the F.H.A. Committee for several years. He was a member of Eddie Robertson Post #76 of the American Legion of Veblen and Marshall Post #3507 of the VFW in Britton.
      Bob enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting, especially waterfowl. He was proud of being a blood donor well into his 80's. He had a keen sense of humor, right up to the end. Bob always had a special affection for special needs children, having been the father of two such sons.
      Grateful for having shared his life are his two daughters: Vicki (Dennis) Didreckson of Britton; Cindy (Steve) Werges of Littleton, CO; four grandchildren: Justin Didreckson, Alexandra, Brittany and Taylor Werges; a sister: Barbara Storley of Sisseton; sister-in-law, Marie Juran of Lisbon, ND; and a special friend, Lorraine Tyler of Sisseton.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons: Larry and Alan Juran; a brother, Joe Juran and a sister, Johanna Juran.

**MARVIN THOMPSON
      Marvin L. Thompson, 83, Great Falls, MT, died of pancreatic cancer June 17, 2009 at a local hospital.
      Memorial service was held June 22 at Central Assembly of God Church. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home.
      Marvin was born December 17, 1925 in Havana, ND to Paul and Cora Thompson. He attended schools in rural South Dakota. Marvin served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
      He owned and operated Marv's Electric in Britton and was a master electrician and master plumber. Marvin and Bonnie moved to Great Falls in 1988 after his retirement to be near their children.
      Marvin enjoyed working, singing, hunting, fishing and was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife of Great Falls; daughter Monica (Paul) Haarstad, Port Orchard, WA; sons Keith C. (Myra) Thompson, Wanchese, NC, Denis R. (Becky) Thompson, Great Falls, Dan L. (Jody) Thompson, Belt, Don L. (Karen) Thompson, Great Falls; sisters, Geralean McLaughlin, Davenport, IA, Edna Tucker, Amarillo, TX, Carol Lucky, Rock Island, IL; 11 grand-children and 6 great-grandchildren.
      He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister and a great-grandson.

**MARGARET WICKRE
      The funeral for Margaret L. Wickre, 86, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25 at Britton United Methodist Church with Rev. Deb Mack officiating. Burial will be in the Britton Cemetery.
      Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Funeral Chapel of Britton, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
      Margaret died Monday, June 22, 2009 at Wheatcrest Hills in Britton.
      Margaret Lee Livingston was born March 1, 1923 to Howard and Rachel (Wilkinson) Livingston at Avalon, MO. As a young girl, she moved with her family to the Amherst area, where she attended school.
      On August 19, 1940 she married Hersey "Bud" Wickre. They made their first home in Kidder and later moved to Hot Springs. They settled in Britton in the early 1940's, and made it their home for the rest of their lives. Hersey died March 17, 1996 and Margaret remained in their home until moving to Spruce Court.
      Margaret was a member of Britton Rebekah Lodge #15 where she was a Past Noble Grand, held all state offices in the LAPM, was a member of the Britton United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women organization She had served on many of the church committees and was in charge of the funeral lunches for many years. She worked for many years at Wickre's Family Restaurant in Britton.
      Margaret's hands were always busy. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, crafts, puzzles, reading, ironing, cleaning and babysitting not only her own grandchildren, but other pre-school children. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at Four Mile and Almos Lakes. Above all else, was her love for her family.
      Survivors include; her three children: Carla (Jim) Grimsrud, Britton, Raymond (Nancy) Wickre, Hawarden, IA, Gary (Marlys) Wickre, Britton; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Howard "Toby" (Betty) Livingston, Sioux Falls, Barbara "June" Tchida, Webster, Vernon (Bev) LaMee, Omaha, NE, Judy (Duane) Cleveland, Pierpont, Richard (Cathy) LaMee, Blair, NE, Doug (Sherry) LaMee, Brentwood, CA, Sam (Colleen) LaMee, Riverside, CA; two sisters-in-law, Frances Stanley and Jeannie Livingston; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father,
her husband, three brothers, a sister and a grandson.

**PHYLLIS LINDNER
      Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis L. Lindner, 80, Aberdeen, was held Tuesday, June 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen.
      Burial was held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Aberdeen. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen, was in charge of arrangements.
Phyllis died Friday, June 19, 2009 at ManorCare Health Services, Aberdeen.
      Survivors include a daughter, Debbie (John) Eye of Britton.

**DAWN PACZKOWSKI
      Dawn Paczkowski, 44, died June 21 at the Milbank Area Hospital - Avera Health.
      Funeral services will be Friday, June 26 at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in Milbank. Rev. Janine Rew-Werling will officiate.
      Burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 6 - 8:30 p.m. and continue at the church on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
      Dawn Marie Paczkowski was born August 17, 1964, in Veblen, the daughter of Leo Frank and Nadine Kay (Hinman) Paczkowski. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1983. Dawn attended Job Corps and Heavy Equipment Operator Trucking School in Palmer, TX. She worked at the Twin Brooks Alfalfa Mill, a motor carrier in Joplin, MO; and later she drove truck for The Shop in Big Stone City, SD, Hedge and Herberg Trucking and RJB Trucking. She was employed at Wes Con in 2004, and worked there until her health forced her retirement.
      Dawn enjoyed fishing, music, and going out to eat with family and friends. She especially loved dogs and always enjoyed traveling.
      Survivors include; her father, Leo Paczkowski, Sisseton; her brothers and sisters: Steve Kadoun, Britton, Mark (Kathy) Kadoun, Britton, Peggy Russman and Allan Mueller, Jr., Milbank, Buckley Paczkowski, Sioux Falls, and Richard Paczkowski, New Effington; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, step-father, George Smith, Milbank; step-brothers and sisters, Kathy (Kenny) Dragt, Milbank, Calvin (LaNae) Smith, Milbank, Brenda (Collin) Chamley, Marvin, Brian (Sandy) Smith, Milbank and Susan (Chuck) Myers, Milbank.
      She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
