**MARION KULZER Marion Rose Kulzer, 75, died April 19, 2009 in Sandpoint, ID. A family memorial service was held April 23 at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sandpoint. A memorial services was held Saturday, May 2 at Havana Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Terrill Sorensen officiating. Piano music was provided by Gail O'Brien. Marion Rose O'Brien was born November 26, 1933 in Veblen to Michael and Mary Rose O'Brien. She graduated from high school in Havana, ND. She was united in marriage to Roman Kulzer, August 29, 1958. The couple moved to Montana and then to California where they raised their two children. Survivors include; her daughter, Carmen (Marc) Bucalo, Cocolalla, ID; her son, Michael (Terri) Kulzer, Visalia, CA; three grandchildren; three brothers, Michael O'Brien, Havana, Bill O'Brien, Havana, and Bob O'Brien, Britton; three sisters, Elaine Olson, Fargo, ND, June Gabriel, Havana and Linda Felch, Bottineau, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister. **GERTRUDE HEITMANN The funeral for Gertrude Heitmann, 87, was held Tuesday, May 12 at First Lutheran Church of Britton, with Reverends Sara and Terrill Sorensen officiating. Burial was in the Lake City Cemetery. Price Funeral Chapel, Britton, was in charge of arrangements. Gertie died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Avera-St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen. Gertrude Catherine Weyer was born September 21, 1921 at Eden, to Tobias and Rosa (Weiger) Weyer. She grew up there and attended school for the first eleven years in Eden. She graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 1939 from Roslyn High School. On October 15, 1940 she married Adolph Hans Heitmann at Britton. The couple lived all of their married life in the Lake City area. Gertie's early life was filled with raising her four sons and being a homemaker. In 1975, she took a position as a part-time clerk in the Lake City post office. In 1982 she was appointed postmaster, and served in that position until retiring in 1998 at the age of 77. Adolph died March 6, 1992 and Gertie continued to make her home in Lake City. Gertie was a member of Lake City Lutheran Church and active in the WELCA. She was known as the "Quilt Lady," as she had made many quilts that the church used for their raffles, and for members in the nursing home or homebound. Gertie's hands were always busy, crocheting doilies and baskets for friends and family. She belonged to the League of Postmasters, the MAPUS, The Senior Citizens Group in Veblen and served as secretary for the Lake City Lutheran Church for many years. Survivors include; her four sons: Arwin (Janet) Heitmann, Britton; Marlin (Julie) Heitmann, Aberdeen; Ordean 'Stub' (Jeannie) Heitmann, Aberdeen; Adrian (Deena) Heitmann, Lake City; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers. Casketbearers were Matthew Heitmann, Arlin Elsen, Glenn Damgaard, Pat Flanery, Art Ham, Austin Skoglund, Casey Skoglund, and Tim Zuehlke. Honorary casketbearers were Vickie Ham, Vonnie Zuehlke, Valerie Skoglund, Tara Heitmann, Tiffany (Scott) Peper, Nicole (Kurt) Zuehlke and Kelly Heitmann.
