Obits: Neiber, Swenson & Bratsveen

**ERIC BRATSVEEN
      Funeral services for Eric Bratsveen, 24, have been rescheduled for Thursday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Britton. Reverend Terry Sletto will officiate. Music for the funeral will be provided by Dorthy Jones, organist and Josh Hawkinson, soloist
      Spring burial will be in the Britton Cemetery. Price Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
      Casketbearers will be Chris Hastings, Kyle Hansen, Josh Irwin, Chris Fagerland, Chad Fagerland and Tom Schumaker. Honorary casketbearers will be all of the people whom Eric's life has touched.
      Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Funeral Chapel, Britton and one hour preceding the funeral at the church on Thursday.He died Friday, March 27, 2009 at Sanford Lake Area Hospital in Webster.
      Eric Louis Bratsveen was born May 11, 1984 at Britton to Louie and Sandra (Kann) Bratsveen. He attended school in Britton and graduated from Britton High School in 2003. During his school career, Eric had participated in chorus, golf, wrestling and football and was active in 4-H.
      He went on to study auto body repair at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND for a year. For the next couple of years, Eric worked locally in carpentry and construction, first for Dave Siebels and later for Chad and Chris Fagerland. In 2006, he began studying diesel mechanics at Lake Area Vocational Technical Institute in Watertown, and graduated from there in 2008. While going to school in Watertown, Eric worked for Tractor Supply Company and Schweer Dairy. After completing his education, he worked for John Deere in Watertown, and the last two months has been employed at South Dakota Wheat Growers in Bristol.
      Eric was baptized and confirmed in the First Presbyterian Church of Britton. He also was an active member of the Buckhorn Rodeo Association, and looked forward to the rodeo and their activities at Ft. Sisseton each year. He was extremely gifted in using his hands, whether for welding, woodworking, carpentry or mechanics. He was an avid outdoors man, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Above all, Eric will be remembered for his winning personality, and the ability to meet and make friends with anyone. He had an amazing "gift of gab" and could talk to a fence post, if no one else was around!
      Survivors include; his parents, Louie and Sandy Bratsveen, Britton; his three younger brothers, Adam, Lucas and Austin Bratsveen all of Britton; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Kann, Britton; his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Edie Bratsveen, Kidder, and several special aunts, uncles and cousins.
      He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather.
      In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Eric's name.


**PAUL SWENSON
      Funeral for Paul Swenson, 52, Aberdeen, a long-time Pierpont resident, was held Saturday, March 28 at Highlanda Lutheran Church of rural Langford. Rev. Charlie Bunk officiated. Spring burial will be in the church cemetery.
Price Funeral Chapel of Britton was in charge of arrangements.
      Music for the service was provided by Karen Mikkelson, organist and Terry Price, soloist. Casketbearers were Kent Swenson, Larry Dauwen, Eugene Nerland, Arlan Carlson, James Pickrel and Tim Skeide. Honorary casketbearers were Paul's family and his many friends.
      Paul died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at his Aberdeen home after many months of declining health.
      Paul John Swenson was born June 3, 1956 at Britton to Orven L. and Josephine Wilhelmina (Carlson) Swenson. He grew up in the Langford area and graduated from Langford High School.
Paul worked in the maintenance department at Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown for a short time, and later for Lutz Gulleson at his grocery store in Britton. He also drove bus for the Langford School District, as well as served as custodian at the school for a number years.
      On June 13, 1985 he married Donna (Johnson) Scott at Webster. They lived most of their married life in Pierpont. In 1986 Paul and Donna purchased the Frontier Lounge in Pierpont, which they owned and operated until 2005. At that time, Paul retired due to health problems. They moved to Aberdeen in October of 2008, and have lived there since that time.
      Paul was a lifelong member of the Highlanda Lutheran Church of rural Langford. He enjoyed visiting with people, and watching television.
      Survivors include; his wife of Aberdeen; three brothers, Gary (Martha) Jandahl, Pierpont, Roger (Jeanie) Swenson, Las Vegas, NV, Dale Swenson, Langford; two sisters, Linda (Phil) Weiland, Pierpont and Ruth Longstreet, Pierre.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.


**RICHARD NEIBER
      Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Richard "Skip" L. Neiber, 55, Aberdeen, was held Saturday, March 28 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Aberdeen.
      Friends may sign on line guest book at www.schriversmemorial.com. Skip's wishes were to be cremated.
      Pallbearers were Paul, Michael, Alfred and Dave Neiber. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren, Layne and Quinn, and all of Skip's family and friends.
      He died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his home after a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
      Richard Lawrence Neiber was born January 5, 1954 to Jerome W. and Ann P. (Slabik) Neiber in Oakes, ND. He grew up and attended school in Veblen and graduated from Veblen High School in 1972.
      Richard and RoxAnne Hansen were united in marriage on February 23, 1974 in Lidgerwood, ND.
      In 1973, he became an insurance agent for Combined Insurance Company and then for American Family Insurance in 1981. They made Aberdeen their home in 1981.
      He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
      Survivors include; his wife of Aberdeen; his daughters, Wendy (Josh) Iverson, Phoenix, AZ. and Melanie (Matt Gross) Neiber, Aberdeen; two grandchildren; his parents, Jerome and Ann Neiber of Veblen, three sisters, Sharon Kinsla, Park River, ND, Julie Neiber, Aberdeen and Carol Neiber, Huron; two brothers, Michael Neiber, Green River, WY, and Paul Neiber, Aurora, CO.
      He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
