**GENE ETL Gene Francis Etl, 72, Vadmais Heights, MN, and former Eden resident, died February 17, 2009 at his home. Funeral services were held February 24. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; children, Craig Etl, New Brighton, MN, Carol Etl and Jon Etl, St. Paul, MN; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, George (Donna) Etl Jr. Mansfield; three sisters, Gerry (Joe) Lehman, Mounds View, MN, Georgia (Joe) Streier, and Gayle (Jim) Pearson, all of Sisseton. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys Etl Sr. **SCOTT GRIMSRUD Scott Alan Grimsrud, 45, Rapid City, died March 19, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Mass of Christian Burial was changed to Wednesday, March 25 at 1 p.m. due to inclement weather at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City. Interment was at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City. Scott was born September 10, 1963 to Jim and Carla Grimsrud at DeWitt Army Hospital at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. In 1964, he moved to Britton where he attended Britton Elementary School. He graduated from Britton High School in 1982. Scott attended South Dakota State University in Brookings where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-business in 1986. On July 11, 1986 Scott married Diane Dafnis of Aberdeen. They made their home in Huron, for a short time where he worked for Swift Independent. They moved to Rapid City later that year where they have made their home ever since. Scott worked in construction, working for Mac Construction, Tribby Construction and Kraft Millwork before starting his own businesses. He was owner-partner in CSI, R & O Construction, Construction Management Incorporated, Commercial Property Investment, Western Dakota Land and Prairie Fire Development. Scott enjoyed attending all activities that his children participated in at St. Thomas More, a huge fan and a Rapid City Rush hockey fan. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time in Presho at their "farm" hunting with his son, family members and friends. Scott was a confirmed member of First Lutheran Church in Britton before being initiated into the Catholic Faith at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City. Survivors, his wife of Rapid City; daughter, Brittany; and son, James both of Rapid City; his parents, Jim and Carla Grimsrud, Britton; his sister, Angela Bennett, Center City, MN, and his grandmother, Margaret Wickre, Britton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hershey Wickre, May and Otto Grimsrude and cousin, Alan Vig. A memorial has been established for his children's education.
