Fundraiser For Groton Couple

A fundraiser to assist Marty and Ellie Sippel of rural Groton with massive health bills is planned for Sunday.
Barb Morris at 42466 Highway 10 east of Britton will hold a household and antique sale beginning at noon and lasting until everything is sold. Proceeds from the concession stand that will operate during the sale will be given to the Sippels, along with supplemental funds from Thrivent for Lutherans.
An account has also been set up for the Sippels at Wells Fargo Bank (120 N. Main, Groton, SD), or donations may be put in canisters at various stores in Groton.
The Sippels, who have no health insurance, cannot work and face overwhelming medical expenses. Marty has heart, knee, and leg problems and also recently had emergency gall bladder surgery, while Ellie is undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer.
