Conference regular season and tournament champion Lake Mills ended Belmond-Klemme's season at last Tuesday's regional quarterfinal match in Garner. The highly rated Bulldogs won by scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-21. Shelby Mennenga hit 11 of 11 serves with two aces plus 10 assists. Dana Christensen went 10-for-11 from the back line with a service ace plus eight kills, three blocks and eight digs. Amy Soma hit 10 of 11 serves with two aces plus four aces, two blocks and one dig. Kelsey Bock and Kaitlynn Allen each recorded three digs; and Valerie Romero had three service aces and a dig. At press time, Lake Mills advanced to the regional final after a victory over Estherville-Lincoln Central Friday.
B-K closes the season with a 10-17 match record and a 28-49 games mark, the most match wins since 2005.
