Multiple law enforcement agencies including Senatobia Police Department, Tate County Sheriff's Office, DeSoto County Sheriff's Office and the DeSoto County SWAT team were called in for a standoff situation Thursday night at a home on Matthews Drive in Senatobia. The initial call went through the dispatch office at 4:38 p.m. Senatobia Police Department said that the incident began as a dispute earlier in the day between a man Police Chief Steve Holts identified as Roger Farmer, and Farmer's daughter, which, according to Holts, led to a non-violent dispute between Farmer, his wife and daughter. The wife and daughter fled the premises and the man refused to leave the home. Holts confirmed that Farmer had been armed with two weapons. Holt said that at 8:56 p.m., officers were able to persuade the man to exit the home with his hands in the air and he was then taken into custody, bringing the standoff to a peaceful conclusion. Holts said that after Farmer was in custody, he was taken to the hospital for an evaluation, after which he will be held at Tate County Jail. Holts said that no charges have been filed against Farmer at this time.
