Rose Massey Alexander Rose Massey Alexander, 52, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away June 7, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto. A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 12 at 4:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. She is survived by her husband, Rocky Alexander; daughter, Osha Marie Alexander; son, Ryan Cody Alexander; sister, Brenda Jones, all of Coldwater; brother, Gary Massey of Memphis, Tenn. and Thomas Massey of Coldwater; and one grandchild, Kylee Eva Alexander. Cynthia Lashell Atkins Cynthia Lashell Atkins, 39, certified Pharmaceutical Technician at Bound Tree Medical, of Southaven, Miss., died June 7, 2012. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Second Baptist MB Church in Coldwater, where she was a member. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Atkins, D'Adrius Atkins and D'Adrinn Atkins, all of Seantobia. Wanda Kay Moore Brinson Wanda Kay Moore Brinson, 58, passed away at her home in Sardis, Miss., Thursday evening, June 7, 2012. A memorial service was held Monday, June 18, at Sardis Lake Baptist Church. Wanda Kay worked as a surgery nurse for Semmes-Murphy Clinic in Memphis, Tenn. until she retired and then began her career as a traveling nurse. She leaves her husband of 14 years, Vernon Brinson of Sardis; two brothers, Edward Moore of Ridgeland, James Moore of Brandon; two sisters, Trisha Sears and Johna Sheley of Sardis; mother, Georgie Frances Dettor Bryant of Sardis. Dorothy Callie DeVane Dorothy Callie DeVane, 85, of Como, Miss., died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at her home in the Harmontown community. Mrs. DeVane was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church in Valdosta, Ga. and was a loving wife and mother and a devoted companion. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Mr. Zeke DeVane of Como, Miss.; three sons, John Thomas DeVane (Mary Ruth) of Sevierville, Tenn., Charles Richard DeVane (Debrah) of Washington, D.C. and Dr. Jerry Allan DeVane (Jo Lee) of Cleveland, Tenn.; one sister, Ann Norman of Hahira, Ga.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Jackson, Sr., 79, of Louisville, Miss., passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Miss. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 11 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Jackson was a U.S. Army Veteran, a Shriner, and member of Harmony Baptist Church in Louisville, Miss. He retired as District Chief of the Memphis Fire Department after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Katie Mae Herod; a sister, Martha Cortesi and two brothers, G.W. and James Herod. He leaves his wife Beverly Jackson; six children, Richard Jackson, Jr., (Nancy) of Oakland, Tenn., Kenneth Jackson (Tina) of Byhalia, Lisa Jones (Ralph) of Moscow, Tenn., Tammy Bunn (Weldon) of Olive Branch, Mike Steen (Stacy) of Olive Branch, and Bridget Hoover (Joe) of Brandon, Miss.; one brother, Tommy Herod of Memphis; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Friday, June 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Center Hill Church in Strayhorn. He is survived by his sons, John David Youngblood, Jr. of Coldwater, John Youngblood of Senatobia, and Johnny Richard Youngblood of Strayhorn; sister, Dottie Brewer of Strayhorn; five grandchildren; and his former wife, Alice Youngblood of Strayhorn.
