Tula Mae Patrick Carlisle, 70, passed away August 12, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. at Singleton Springs Cemetery on August 22.
She is survived by three children, Billy Ray Carlisle, Rita Carlisle Cavallo, and Brenda Kay Carlisle; two sisters, Frances P. Thaggard and Martha P. Taylor; a brother, Clarence H. Patrick, Jr.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Katherine Rowe Chambers
Katherine Rowe Chambers, 71, passed away September 10, 2009 at her residence in Senatobia, Miss. Services were held on Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Burial followed in Flag Lake Cemetery.
Mrs. Chambers leaves her daughter, Sherri Redd; her son, Eddie Chambers; her brother, Nolan Row, Sr., all of Senatobia; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Barbara Ann Vaughn
Mrs. Barbara Ann Vaughn Jaco, 61, retired Materials Service Coordinator with Bell South, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Miss. in Oxford. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Waller Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Oak Forrest Cemetery in Randolph, Miss.
Survivors include her husband, Rubin Lee Jaco of Oxford; a daughter, Sherry Jaco Nations of Lakeland, Fla.; and two brothers, Bobby Lynn Vaughn of Glendora, Calif. and Danny Ray Vaughn of Oxford, Miss.
Laura Dooley Reed
Laura Dooley Reed, 81, of Sardis, Miss., passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009. Services were held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Viney Creek M.B. Church in Sardis, Miss. Burial followed in the church cemetery in Sardis.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlene Bradford, Dearia Salter, Letha Wiley all of Sardis, Miss., Mary H. McIntyre of Coldwater, Miss., Carrie Black of Horn Lake, Miss., and Ethel M. Reed of Washington, D.C.; sons, John Reed of Sardis, Miss., Anthony Reed of Vicksburg, Miss., Clifton Reed of Cordova, Tenn., and Charles Reed of St. Louis, Miss.; sister, Mittie Hudson of Merriville, Ind.; brother, Earnest Dooley of Chicago, Ill.; 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Gertrude Johnson (Trudy) Sledge
Gertrude Johnson (Trudy) Sledge, 76, passed away September 10, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Services were held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Como with burial following in Friendship Cemetery.
Trudy was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Voss Johnson of Memphis, Tenn. She was the wife of the late Norfleet Ruffin (N.R.) Sledge of Como, Miss. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Voss Johnson, Jr. She graduated with a BA from Hollins College in Roanoke, Va. and a Master of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. A long standing member of the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Como, Trudy was active in church business and in the Panola County community for many years.
Trudy is survived by her three children; Julia S. Bryan (Michael), Meriwether S. Eisenhard (Stephen). Norfleet Ruffin Sledge, junior; two sisters, Margaret J. Wade (David) and Judith Lawson Johnson, both of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Dorthea "Dot" Taylor
Dorthea "Dot" Taylor, 59, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away September 15, 2009 at her home. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home. Burial followed at Bethesda Cemetery in Senatobia.
Dot was an employee of Sycamore Bank and a member of Lifepoint Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Travis Taylor and her brother, Robert White.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Taylor of The Colony, Texas; three sisters, Marcia Sudduth of Jacksonville, Fla., Shirley Gregg of Southaven, Miss., and Margie Cummings of Greenville, Miss.; two brothers, Horace White of Senatobia, Miss. and John White of Southaven, Miss. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Chandler Elizabeth Taylor and Stephen Cole Taylor.

W.G. Williams, 59, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away September 12, 2009. Services were held at Bates Chapel C.M.E. Church in Coldwater, Miss. September 19, 2009 at 1 p.m. Burial was in Edwards Chapel A.M.E. Cemetery in Coldwater, Miss. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater, Miss. had charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughter, Wykee Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; sons, Michael Jones, Alejandro Fitzpatrick, and Antonia Williams, Sr., all of Detroit, Mich.; stepdaughters, Tasha Herrion, Trinika Cannon, and Trimika Scott all of Memphis, Tenn.; stepson, Travis Cannon of Memphis, Tenn.; mother, Lue Francia Williams of Coldwater, Miss.; sisters, Shirley Knights of Gary, Ind., Robbie Spears of Gary, Ind., Francie McGhee of Coldwater, Miss., Bonnie Jones of Coldwater, Miss., and Irene Williams of Horn Lake, Miss.; brothers, Columbus Carr of Lafayette, Miss., Sammie C.
