Linda M. Algee

Linda M. Algee, 71, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away August 8, 2009 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital. Services were held on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Coldwater, Miss.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis W. Algee of Coldwater, Miss.; two daughters, Ellen McCormick (Gaston) of Hernando, Miss. and Sarah Algee of Memphis, Tenn.; three sons, Curits W. Algee, Jr. (Darla) of Coldwater, Miss., Robert "Bob" Algee (Becky) of Jonesborough, Tenn. and Jeffrey Algee (Kristi) of Star, Miss. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Emily McCormick and Scout, Wren and Hayes Algee.

The family request memorials be sent to the Coldwater First Baptist Church, where she was a member, or the American Cancer Society.

Marguerite G. Brassel

Marguerite G. Brassel, 84, passed away August 12, 2009 in Senatobia, Miss. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Burial followed at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Clarksdale, Miss.

Mrs. Brassel was a member of the Highland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brassel and her son, Ray Brassel.

She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Little (Gerald) of Senatobia, Miss.; two sisters, Christine Mitchell of Ridgeland, Miss. and Jimmie Sides of Coffeeville, Miss; two granddaughters, Brooke Little Mayfield (Ron) and Brittany Little Dalomba (Job); and one great-granddaughter, Ava Karis Mayfield.

Gladys Mae Hensley Gitter

Gladys Mae Hensley Gitter, 91, passed away August 11, 2009 at the Senatobia Convalescent Center in Senatobia, Miss. Services were held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia with burial following in Crockett Cemetery.

Mrs. Gitter was born August 18, 1917 to John and Pernie Hensley. She was a member of the Crockett Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Gitter; her sisters, Odell Hensley, Irene Hensley and Estelle Key; her brothers, Grady, Raymond, Lee, J.T. Hensley and her baby brother who died at birth.

She leaves her daughter, Sadelia Dickerson (Teddy) of Faulkner, Miss.; her sons, Lacey Gitter (Chris) of Senatobia and Bobby Gitter (Brenda) of Batesville, Miss.; her sister, Louise Moore of Senatobia; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the Crockett Cemetery Fund or the Senatobia Convalescent Center Activity Center.

Bill F. Knox

Bill F. Knox, 85, of Crenshaw, Miss., passed away August 9, 2009 at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia, Miss. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the Crenshaw United Methodist Church where he was a member. Burial followed in Longtown Cemetery.

Mr. Knox was born November 5, 1923 in Water Valley, Miss. He came to Crenshaw, Miss. in 1974 to work at the Bank of Crenshaw and was employed there until he retired in 1987. He was the President of the bank for over 35 years. He was also a general insurance agent and president of the Crenshaw Insurance Agency. He was a Panola County supervisor for 33 years, longtime member of the Crenshaw Volunteer Fire Department, charter member of the Crenshaw Lions Club and a Panola County representative on the Board of North Mississippi Mental Health Commission for 21 years. He was also a Mason and Shriner for over 63 years, a member of the Valley City Lodge #402 and a member of Wahabi Shrine in Jackson, Miss.

Mr. Knox was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Ruth Rich Knox; two sons, Andrew and Clayton Knox; and his brothers, Richard, Johnny and Sam Knox.

He leaves his son, B. Rich Knox and his wife, Rosemary of Yazoo City, Miss.

Memorials may be sent to the Crenshaw United Methodist Church or the Neuro Fibromatosis Foundation.

Alex Loredo

Alex Loredo, 14, of Coldwater, Miss., a student at Independence High School, died August 9, 2009 at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. with prayer service at 7 p.m. at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home in Hernando, Miss. Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Senatobia, Miss. with burial in Greenleaf Cemetery, Greenleaf, Miss.

He leaves his parents, Jose and Angelica Loredo; sister, Maria Loredo of Coldwater, Miss.; brother, Alfredo Loredo of Coldwater, Miss.; and grandparents, Ignacia Lopez, Faustina Bacz and Vicente Alvarez.

Robert Ruffner

Mr. Robert Ruffner, 80, of Como, Miss., husband of Mrs. Mozelle Ruffner, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the V.A. Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Visitation was held Friday, August 14, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Interment followed the services at Free Springs Methodist Church Cemetery in Como, Miss.

Mr. Ruffner is survived by his wife Mrs. Mozelle Ruffner; and one sister, Pauline Lanlis of New Brunsfield, Texas.

Thelma Louise Whitehead

Thelma Louise Whitehead, 71, bookkeeper, real estate agent with Century 21, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away Monday, August 10, 2009. Services were held at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 1 p.m. Burial was at New Hope Baptist in Independence.

She leaves behind her daughter, Elwanda Whitehead of Senatobia, Miss.; brother, Lloyd Duran of Florida; four sisters, Tracy Brown of Hartselle, Ala., Mary Elizabeth Garner of Jacksonville, Fla., Marcie Robertson of Asheville, N.C. and Susan Rosen of Rhode Island; and three grandchildren, Patricia Whitehead, John Gonzales, III, and Christopher Gonzales.
