Carey Jeanne Duncan Black

Carey Jeanne Duncan Black, 66, of Senatobia, Miss., native of Union County, Miss., passed away May 10, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto.

She was a retired Medical Practice Administrator and a member of First United Methodist Church in Senatobia. She was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Senatobia Garden Club. She loved to work in her yard and travel, but above all else, she loved her family.

Services were held Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. with Rev. Ray Owens officiating. Burial followed in Glenfield Memorial Gardens in New Albany, Miss.

She is survived by her former husband, Dr. Larry Black of Senatobia, Miss.; two daughters, Robyn Valerie Black Caldwell and husband, Jim of Olive Branch, Miss. and Jennifer Leigh Black Davis and husband, Terrell of Senatobia, Miss.; three granddaughters, Jordan Leigh Caldwell, Abbey Grace Davis and Anna-Lauren Rucker Davis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation or a breast cancer foundation of the donor's choice.

Verline Chrestman

Verline Chrestman, 77, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away May 11, 2009 in Southaven, Miss. Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Mrs. Chrestman was a retired customer service representative for Chromcraft Furniture and was a member of the Senatobia Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Opal Chrestman.

She is survived by her sons, Arlin B. Chrestman (Terry) of Senatobia, Miss. and Darrell Chrestman (Shanda) of Saltillo, Miss.; two sisters, Jackie Bibb and Danice McCarty both of Monette, Ark.; one brother, Carlen Duncan of Hernando, Miss.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be sent to The American Cancer Society.

Eugene Conrad

Eugene Conrad, 72, of Como, Miss., passed away on May 10, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tenn. He is survived by his mother, Effie Conrad of Como, Miss.; two sister, Ernestine Black of Como, Miss. and Stella L. Jackson of Arlington, Tenn.; and by one brother, Bedford Conrad of Como, Miss.

Services were held on Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at Simon Chapel #1 Church in Como, Miss. Burial followed at Simon Chapel #1 Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge of the services.

Patricia Jones Coyle

Patricia Jones Coyle, 69, of Sarah, Miss., passed away May 12,2009. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery.

Mrs. Coyle was a direct support professional for the Baddour Memorial Center in Senatobia.

She is survived by her husband, James Coyle of Crockett, Miss.; her daughter, Theresa (Terri) May of Sarah, Miss.; a son, Russell Coyle of Humboldt, Tenn.; a sister, Pamela Steele Pauley of Strayhorn, Miss.; and three grandchildren, Gabe Anglin, Gina Lynn May and Tallie Joanna May. She also leaves many other friends, family and special loved ones from the Baddour Memorial Center.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Coyle, Jr.; her parents, Lamar Jones and Ernestine Spencer Steele; and her sister, Chessie Spencer Bullard.

Amanda G. Dicken

Amanda G. Dicken, 46, passed away May 11, 2009 at her home in Arkabutla, Miss. Services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Senatobia at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Dicken of Arkabutla, Miss.; her daughter, Christine Elizabeth Dicken Feathers of Arkabutla, Miss.; her mother, Lola Bernard of Arkabutla, Miss.; and her brother, Charles Bernard, Jr. of Sarah, Miss.

She was a member of the Senatobia First United Methodist Church. She was employed by Brown and Associates for 19 years.

Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church, Mt. Vernon Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.

Loyce Mays

Loyce Mays, 71, carpenter, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away May 10, 2009. Services were held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Byhalia, Miss. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 12 noon. Burial was in Roberts Chapel Cemetery in Coldwater, Miss. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater, Miss. had charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Lue Birda Mays; daughters, Shirley Faye Jenkins of Memphis, Tenn., Cora King of Memphis, Tenn., Sherona Howell of Independence, Miss., Valerie Bailey of Rossville, Tenn. and Pamela Brown of Barton, Miss.; sons, Elder Tarble Mays of Memphis, Tenn., McClabia Mays of Arlington, Tenn., James Darrell Mays of Memphis, Tenn., Scottie Mays of Memphis, Tenn. and Ricky Newson of Byhalia, Miss.; sister, Lena M. Davidson of Independence, Miss; brothers, Rev. Y.W. Mays of Memphis, Tenn., Rev. Willie Lee Mays of Independence, Miss., Ozell Mays of Batesville, Miss., A.Y. Mays of Independence, Miss., and Levi Mays of Independence, Miss.

Jeffie McNeal

Jeffie McNeal, 88, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away May 7, 2009. Services were held at Chulahoma Baptist Church in Holly Springs, Miss. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 1 p.m. Burial followed in Chulahoma Church Cemetery in Holly Springs, Miss. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater, Miss. had charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her daughters, Effie Jackson of Senatobia, Miss., L.M. Green of Chicago, Ill., Donnie Ree McNeal of Senatobia, Miss., Dorothy Faulkner of Senatobia, Miss., Varrie Richmond of Senatobia, Miss., Gwen Dowl of Senatobia, Miss., Carolyn Todd of Memphis, Tenn. Charmelle Jackson of Senatobia, Miss.; sons, Huce McNeal, Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Kelly McNeal of Senatobia, Miss. and Edward McNeal of Country Club Hills, Miss.; sisters, Annie Martin of Holly Springs, Miss., Celestine Newson of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Velma Jones of Gary, Indiana; brothers, Will Ingram Cox of Chicago, Ill., Matt C. Cox of Chicago, Ill. and Jimmy Cox of Detroit, Mich. 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Richard Doyle Montgomery

Richard Doyle Montgomery, 45, passed away May 9, 2009 at his residence in Senatobia. Services were held Tuesday May 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Senatobia, where he was a member, with burial following in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.

Richard leaves his parents Rob Roy and Martha Montgomery of Strayhorn, Miss., his brothers; Willie and Robert Montgomery of Strayhorn, Miss. and Wayne Montgomery of Holly Springs, Miss.; his nieces, Chrystal Ann Montgomery of Southaven, Miss. and Alicia Montgomery of Ward Ark. He also leaves fiancee, Wanda Burrowes of Senatobia and her son Matthew and his wife Amy and their son Brayden and her son Joshua and his wife Jennifer and their daughter Chloe.

Dorothy Armstrong Newson

Dorothy Armstrong Newson, 59, bank teller, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away May 8, 2009. Services were held at Senatobia Church of Christ in Senatobia, Miss. on May 16, 2009 at 12 noon. Burial was in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery in Senatobia, Miss. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater, Miss. had charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her daughter, Christie King of Coldwater, Miss.; son, Earnest Newson, Jr. of Cedar Hill, Texas; sister, Mattie Austin of Senatobia, Miss.; brothers, Charles Armstrong of Hernando, Miss. and Johnny Armstrong of Senatobia, Miss.; and 6 grandchildren.
