Leslie Bowden

Leslie Bowden, 100, of Sardis, Miss., farmer, passed away April 16, 2009 at Baptist North Mississippi Hospital in Oxford, Miss. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Liberty Hill CME Church in Como, Miss. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Como, Miss. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Carter

Robert Carter, 61, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away April 8, 2009. Services were held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Ruffin Grove M.B. Church. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge of the services.

He is survived by his sisters, Tilda Williams, Dorothy Coleman and Bobbie Lark; brothers, Howard Carter and Willie Carter.

Orian Cathey

Orian Cathey, 59, of Yazoo City, Miss., passed away April 16, 2009. Services were held at Thyatira Church of Christ in Senatobia, Miss. on April 25, 2009 at 2 p.m. Burial was in Carter Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Senatobia, Miss.

He is survived by his father, Willie Cathey; sisters, Audrey Montgomery and Ms. Eddie M. Cathey, both of Chicago, Ill., Arma Mosley of Senatobia, Miss., Freddie Street of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Tambrey Bolton of Coldwater, Miss.; and by his brothers, Charles Cathey and Willie Cathey, Jr., both of Holly Springs, Miss. and Troy Cathey and Gurnett Cathey, both of Senatobia, Miss.

Gracie Edwards

Gracie Edwards, 92, widow of Alonzo Lee Edwards, passed away April 21, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto. Services were held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at noon at Simon Chapel #2 M.B. Church near Como, Miss. where she was a member, with burial following in the church cemetery.

She leaves her daughters: Minnie Carlton of Memphis, Tenn., Emma Edwards and Gracie Mae Edwards, both of Sardis, Miss., Ruthie Faulkner and Wrenetha Faulkner, both of Senatobia, Miss., Bobbie Legge of Batesville, Miss. and Mildred Crawford of Memphis, Tenn.; her sons, Jimmy Edwards of Como, Miss. and Bemis Edwards of Sardis, Miss.; 40 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Rusty Wayne (Ronnie) Grace

Rusty Wayne (Ronnie) Grace, 59, passed away April 19, 2009 at his home. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home. Burial followed at Looxahoma Community Cemetery.

Mr. Grace was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gail Grace of Looxahoma; four sons, Charles Grace of Strayhorn, John Grace and Will Grace both of Coldwater, and James Grace of Looxahoma; three daughters, Stephanie Saunders and Rebecca Gregg both of Coldwater, and Jo Ann Ray of Looxahoma; six brothers, Willie Grace of Sarah, Billie Grace of Blue Goose, Jimmie Grace of Bruce, Donnie Grace, Phillip Grace and Dwight Grace all of Senatobia; three sisters, Linda Joyce Jarrett of Missouri, Betty Britt of Batesville and Wanda Brown of Tyro; 17 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren and two god children, Kya and Chrishun Freeman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Sowell and Marilynn Crumb.

Earnestine Jordon

Earnestine Jordon, 54, school bus driver, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away April 17, 2009. Services were held at Mid-West Church of Christ in Coldwater, Miss. on April 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. Burial was in Bluff Road Church Cemetery in Coldwater, Miss. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater, Miss.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Lorenzo of California and Pirsil Jordon of Hernando, Miss.; sons, Demetruis Jordon, Derrick Jordon and Cordell Jordon, all of Horn Lake, Miss.; sisters, Dorothy Clemons of Hernando, Miss., Shirley French of Coldwater, Miss., Mary Smith of Hernando, Miss. and Gloria Tolbert of Coldwater, Miss.; brothers, Melvin Holloway of Coldwater, Miss., Cedric Holloway of Senatobia, Miss. and Terry Holloway of Hernando, Miss.; and 10 grandchildren.

Helen Marie Holland Cummins Ledbetter

Helen Marie Holland Cummins Ledbetter, 76, of Hernando, Miss., formerly Coldwater, went to be with the Lord April 17, 2009.

The beloved mother and grandmother was a singer/songwriter in the tri-state area from the late 1940's 'til the mid 1970's.

She was preceded in death by husband Carl (Jack) Ledbetter.

She is survived by her three sons, Micheal Cummins (Susan), Micheal Woolfolk, and Danny Wilbanks; four daughters, Anna Fairchild-Wilhite, Debra (Gracie) Cummins, Cindy Dunson (Jessie), Cassandra Woolfolk (Darrell); stepson, Edward Eugene Cummins (Judy); 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Bob, Sonny, Ronnie, and Marvin Holland of Clinton, La., Alvin Holland of Olive Branch, Miss.; and sister, Birdie Raines of Southaven, Miss.

Helen will be missed by all of those who loved her. Services were held Tuesday April 21, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Coldwater, Miss. Graveside services followed.

Jeramie Migale Moore

Jeramie Migale Moore, 26, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away April 14, 2009. Services were held at Second Baptist Family Life Center in Coldwater, Miss. on April 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. Burial was in Second Baptist Cemetery in Coldwater, Miss. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater had charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his mother, Josephine Ramsey Moore of Coldwater, Miss.; father, Johnny W. Moore of Coldwater, Miss.; son; Jeramie Migale Moore, II; sister, Chandra Bolton of Hernando, Miss.; and by his brother, John Anthony Moore of Memphis, Tenn.

Nola Elaine Tuesdale-Pratts

Nola Elaine Tuesdale-Pratts, 54, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away April 17, 2009 at Methodist University Hospital. Services were held at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery in Senatobia, Miss. Felix Cauthen Funeral had charge of the services.

She was a member of Higher Hope M.B. Church in Senatobia, Miss.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Pratts; 7 daughters, Wendie Taylor of Senatobia, Miss., Keisha Benjamin of Los Angeles, Calif., Loleta Brown of Norwalk, Calif., Tamara Pratts of Senatobia, Miss., Kia Pratts of Compton, Calif., Amber Tuesdale of Senatobia, Miss., and Kennisha Pratts of Senatobia, Miss.; 5 sons, Angelo DeSouza of Compton, Calif., Kenneth Pratts, Jr., of Norwalk, Calif., Elishah Pratts, Christopher Tuesdale and Devonte Tuesdale, all of Senatobia, Miss.; one sister, Mary Gaines of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Terry Tuesdale of Memphis, Tenn.; and 8 grandchildren.
