Juanita Beauregard

Juanita Beauregard, 75, factory worker, of Memphis, Tenn., passed away February 2, 2009 Services were held Royal Chapel C.M.E. Church in Byhalia at 1 p.m. Burial was at Royal Chapel Cemetery in Byhalia, Miss.

She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Punigan of Memphis, Tenn. and Juanita Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; sons, Joseph A. Dunigan, David W. Dunigan and Thomas A. Dunigan, all of Memphis, Tenn., Cleophas S. Dunigan of North Carolina, Phillip F. Dunigan of Chicago, Ill., and Paul D. Beauregard of California; sisters, Gladys Vincent and Evone B. Anderson of Memphis, Tenn.; brothers, Lavern Beauregard, Etoy Beauregard, Leroy Beauregard, James S. Beauregard and Alfred Russell Beauregard, all of Memphis, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Ruth Ann Cargile

Ruth Ann Cargile, 57, passed away February 2, 2009 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobla, Miss. with burial following in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Cargile leaves ber husband Danny Cargile and her son James Cargile both of Senatobia, Miss. She also leaves her sisters, Margie Schutze of Independence, Kan. and Lora Chavez of Moses Lake, Wash.; her brothers, Don Weaver of Coffeeville, Kan. Ray Weaver of Independence Kan., Glennis Weaver of Howard Kan. and Richard Weaver of Oak Valley, Kan. and two grandchildren.

Cynthia E. "Sue" Christensen

Cynthia E. "Sue" Christensen passed away February 2, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday February 6, 2009 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Cremation followed.

Mrs. Christensen leaves her husband, Mark Christensen of Coldwater, Miss.; her daughter, Teresa Christensen of Picayune, Miss; her sons: Troy Heald of Johnson Creek, Wis., Randy Heald of Mottley Minn. and Christopher Christensen of Atlanta, Ga. She also leaves her brother Leonard Hersey of Ocala, Fla. and 6 grandchildren.

Sidney Hill

Sidney Hill, 70, of Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Como, Miss., passed away in Milwaukee, Wis., on January 31, 2009.

He is survived by his daughters, Loretta Roy of Little Rock, Ark., Barbara Ann Burton of Milwaukee, Wis., Lorriane Hill; and by his sons, Steven Hill, Sidney Hill, Edward Neal and Huey Neal all of Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Hill also is survived by his sisters, Jessie Mae Howard of Milwaukee, Wis., Willie Mae Lark of Como, Miss., Mary Lee Hill of Florida, Dorothy Orr & Gloria Perkins both of Memphis, Tenn.; and by his brothers, Willie B. Hill of Como, Miss., Roosevelt Hill, Jimmy Lee Hill, Johnny Hill, Roy Hill all of Memphis, Tenn. He leaves 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Sunday, February 8, at Beulah M.B. Church in Como, Miss. at 2:00 p.m. Burial followed at Beulah Church Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge of the services.

Joseph Alfred Love

Joseph Alfred Love, 86, of Coldwater, Miss. passed away on February 1, 2009 at his home.

He is survived by his daughters, Ella Love Payne, Maggie Love Oliver, Betty Love Wiggins, Josephine Love Graham, Perlina Love, Joyce Love Sipp all of Memphis, Tenn., Virginia Love Webb of Senatobia, Miss. and by his sons, Danny Love, Joseph Love, Jr., Ronald Love all of Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Love is also survived by his sister, Fannie Love of Carson, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, February 7, at Mt. Calm M.B. Church in Senatobia, Miss. at 11:00 a.m. Burial followed at St. Peter Church Cemetery in Senatobia, Miss. Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge of the services.

Colby Mason

Colby Mason, 17, of Senatobia, Miss., died Sunday, February 1, 2009. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Magnolia Heights School in Senatobia, Miss. Jay Adkins, Youth Minister of Life Point Church of Senatobia, officiated. Speakers were Mary Julia Moore, Bobby Bouchillon, Cliff Young, Chris McMinn and Russ Whiteside. Interment was in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.

Colby was born on July 22, 1991 to Charles Keith and Gayle Whitsell Mason of Tupelo, Miss. He was a student at Magnolia Heights School where he was involved in many sports activities. Colby was a member of the baseball team, football team and former member of the basketball team. He also was a choir member at the school. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting.

He is survived by his parents, Keith and Gayle Whitsell Mason of Senatobia, Miss.; brother, Will Sanders and wife, Mandi of Randolph, Miss.; nephew, Trip Sanders; grandparents, Mrs. Jetty Whitsell of Pope, Miss., Charles and Glenda Mason of Oxford, Miss.

The family requests memorials be made to the Drew Bouchillon Fund at Magnolia Heights School, 1 Chiefs Drive, Senatobia, MS 38668.

Wells Funeral Home of Batesville, Miss. had charge of the arrangements.

Lawrence Harvey May

Lawrence Harvey May, 63, of Memphis, Tenn., fomerly of Arkabutla, Miss., passed away February 2, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Services were held on February 5, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home with burial following in Hopewell Cemetery in Arkabutla.

Mr. May leaves his daughter, Misty Kelly and his son, Emanuel May both of Memphis, Tenn.; his sisters; Annie Lou Petrowski and Mandy May, both of Memphis, Tenn. and Shirley Hanna of Olive Branch, Miss.; his brother, Luther May of Millington, Tenn.; and 2 grandchildren.

Jack D. Nazary

Jack D. Nazary, 86, of Carthage, Miss., passed away February 1, 2009 at the home of his daughter in Senatobia, Miss.

He was a World War II Veteran serving in Company "F" of the 393D Infantry. He graduated from Mississippi College and New Orleans Theological Seminary and has been in the ministry for 64 years. He pastored 12 churches in Mississippi and North Carolina. His longest service was 15 years at West Jackson Baptist Church, Jackson, Miss. and 14 years at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, Southaven, Miss.. He had a deep love for outreach, evangelism, and serving new church plants.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and helpmate, Estelle W. Nazary, and two children, Brenda and Devon.

He is survived by one daughter, Shirley N. Clanton; one granddaughter, Cindy Jones, her husband, Brian, and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Jones, all of Senatobia, Miss. He leaves one brother, Hays Nazary of Carthage, Miss.; five sisters, Joy Nazary, Dot Vowell, Patty Chancellor, all of Carthage; Betsy Pulliam of Pearl, Miss. and Clara Griffith of Newton, Miss.

The visitation and the funeral were held at the West Carthage Baptist Church, Carthage, Miss. where he was the first pastor and a current member. Visitation was held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, followed by the funeral at 2:00. Burial was at his home church cemetery, Midway Baptist Church.

Memorials may be sent to the West Carthage Baptist Church Building Fund, Midway Baptist Church Outreach Ministry or the Sunrise Baptist Church, Carthage, Miss.

Wilcox Funeral Home in Carthage, Miss. had charge of the services.

Joseph Lee "Joe" Neal

Joseph Lee "Joe" Neal, 60, of Como, Miss., passed away February 3, 2009 at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia, Miss. Services were held on February 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Greenleaf Cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Alice Smith Neal of Como; his daughters, Jan Daugherty and Joanne Britt, both of Sardis, Miss. and Elizabeth Stratton of Starkville, Miss.; his son, James Stratton of Millington, Tenn.; his sister, Cathren Visconti of Como, Miss.; and his brother, Charles Neal of Coldwater, Miss. He also leaves 8 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

James McKay Stevens

James McKay Stevens, 91, passed away February 2, 2009 at his residence in Independence, Miss. Graveside services were held on February 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Independence with Bro. Ken Pegram officiating.

Mr. Stevens leaves his brother, Everette Stevens of Oxford, Miss.; his nephews, Mark Rhodes of Senatobia, Miss., James Stevens of Pensacola, Fla. and David Stevens of Independence; his niece, Betty Sue Rieth of Pensacola, Fla.

He was a veteran of WW2 having served in the Army and he was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

George Lamar Thomas

George Lamar Thomas, 77, of Arkabutla, Miss., passed away February 1, 2009 at his home. Services were held at 1 p.m. on February 5 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home. Burial followed at Longtown Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah J. Thomas of Arkabutla, Miss.; a daughter, Debbie Reed of Houston, Texas; two stepdaughters, Janet Daniel of Arkabutla, Miss. and Melinda Haas of Southaven, Miss.; a stepson, David Jones of Houma, La.; two sisters, Mary Suggs of Barton, Miss. and Hazel Lundy of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Charles Thomas of Barton, Miss.; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
