Senate condemns MoveOn ad
An Editorial September 25, 2007

Recently the senate voted on whether to condemn MoveOn.org for the ad attacking Gen. David Petraeus.

Some Democrats voted for the condemnation and the measure passed 72-25, but some significant Democrats apparently fear MoveOn enough not to cross it.

Sens. Joe Biden and Barack Obama made sure they were absent for the actual vote. Obama was in the Senate chamber 20 minutes earlier to vote for an amendment to kill the measure, but he skedaddled in time to skip the record on the real vote.

Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Chris Dodd voted against the measure condemning the liberal Democratic money factory for their unpatriotic ad.
