Lisa Williams was in the hospital last week suffering from a collapsed lung and pneumonia. She is scheduled to see her cancer doctor on Tuesday and her pulmonary doctor on Thursday for the pneumonia. Please continue to pray for her and her family. Rhea Vines was ill this past week with a virus and still had some of the bacteria in her system from her surgery a few weeks ago. She is better now after taking another round of antibiotics. Please remember to pray for Lee Branan and his little granddaughter, Lillie Strawn who was born prematurely a few weeks ago. Nancy Valesquez, sister of Linda Espinoza, is scheduled to have surgery for kidney stones soon. Remember this family in your prayers. Linda is getting excited about her house. They have got the foundation poured and, maybe with this sunny weather, they can go on up with it. I have never seen so much rain in my life as we have had this year, and this has greatly slowed down all construction. I knew things were bad when, this spring and summer, I watched a Blue Jay stealing my dog food and feeding it to its babies. Now that is a real eye opener, and makes me wonder what we are in for in the coming year. Pantry item for this month is canned meat. The pantry is very low at this time and we need donations to bring it back up so we can help families in need, or families who have been burned out. Please bring any item you wish to give and leave it with Tim. Ashton Hudson got his Cub Scouts uniform this week and he looks so handsome when he is all dressed up. I took up his pants so they would fit and no one knows how excited these kids get over going to the meetings and getting to do all the things they do. Tim West and all the other leaders of such groups are to be praised and recognized for their selfless efforts for our youth. Remember to pray for those in the nursing home. Those from our congregation are: Bennie Stacks, Mary Cocke, Grace Dandridge, and Virginia Williams (Senatobia), Claude Scruggs (Oxford), Beatrice O"Barr, Jane Anderson Whitten (Desoto Center) and Jimmy Vines(Jonesboro, Ar). Our shut in are Janie and Jeff Brister and Carol Henderson. Prayer requests have been made for Crystal Jacobs and her daughters of Looxahoma. This family is experiencing some trying times right now. Thomas Latimer remains in Oxford Hospital where he is experiencing kidney problems and was told that his kidneys are only working at 30 per cent which means he either has to have a kidney transplant or go on dialysis. So far he has not opted for either. Remember him in your prayers. Lisa was cleaning house the other day and asked Brianna to help her. When she hesitated (I mean what 7 year old do you know who had rather clean than be on the pc?) Lisa said, "You know the Bible says 'if a man does not work, then neither shall he eat?' " Brianna thought about it a second or two and then replied,"Well I AM NOT A MAN!" We cannot know what each day will bring as we go through life, sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes happy, and then sometimes sad. The poem this week is a picture of all... Definition of Life To grasp at truth;then not to learn, To reach for love; in failure yearn. To hope for peace, to pray for rain, To clutch the problems of the sane. To experience heartache; to feel the hurt, To wish for something lost in the dirt. To dream of mansions; to realize love, To taste the freshness of the sky above. This is what life is made of, and it all seems so true, Not all good, nor all bad, but an uneven mixture of the two. Ellen Burford
