Boone County Litter Clean Up Day Saturday
The Keep Boone County Scenic Litter Clean Up Day fosters the desire to educate participants about the impact of illegal dumping. Held around Earth Day each year, this event is not a garbage pick-up event like the City Wide Cleanups. It is a "go for a walk" and pick up litter day. You can 'KEEP BOONE COUNTY SCENIC' by volunteering to participate in the third annual county-wide spring litter clean-up day. The event will take place the weekend of Earth Day April 21 and 22 in Ogden. KBCB will supply trash collection bags. To participate in Ogden's litter clean up you need to first: * Identify an area of town that you would like to clean up. * Plan for yourself to participate or organize your friends and others to participate either of those two days. * Contact City Hall at 515-275-2917 (or email donovanolson@netins.net) to let them know your cleanup location, who will be participating, where to find litter bags and where to drop off bags when done. * Go out and clean up the community. Green litter bags are available at City Hall, Clark's Food Mart, Everlastings Flowers & Gifts and The Ogden Reporter. Businesses, organizations, groups, schools, churches, individuals, etc. are encouraged to participate. Boone County Conservation would like to have a group gather at Don Williams Lake to help clean up the smaller items unearthed by the lowering of the lake. Call Lois or Lisa at 515-433-0591 or email kbcb@boonelandfill.org, for more information. Boone County is a very scenic area and it takes all of us to keep it that way. We take pride in our Cities and County, so please think twice before throwing that trash on the ground. Shredding Day City State Bank in Ogden is participating by having a "shredding day" Saturday, April 21. You are invited to bring your personal shred items to the bank from 9 to 11 a.m. that day.
