Ogden girls finished the week with a win over Guthrie Center 14-0 and losses to Woodward-Granger, 4-3 in eight innings, Van Meter, 6-2 and Earlam 10-0. The Bulldogs face South Hamilton Tuesday night July 3 here in Sectional action. The winner plays DM Christian in Urbandale Thursday, July 5. Ogden finished the regular season 14-14 overall and 9-9 in conference play. Earlham 10 - Ogden 0 The Earlham Cardinals defeated the Ogden softball 10-0 last Monday when Cardinal Amber Logemann did not allow an Ogden hit. The Bulldogs struck out 12 times against Logemann. Earlham pounded out 14 hits including 2 triples. "We faced one of the best pitchers in the state," said Coach Mike Moses. "We couldn't make good contact. Carly Lindholm's stellar defensive plays kept the game close for Ogden. The play of the game came in the fourth inning with runners on second and third. Lindholm's diving line-drive catch ended the inning stranding two runners. Moses says his girls need to get off to a better start. "We got behind early on plays we didn't make and they scored three runs. After that we played even with them." Ogden missed on opportunities to cut into the lead late but was unable to come up with big hits. Breitbarth led the attack with three doubles and Maddie Diggs added two hits including a double. Ellsworth added two hits including a triple.
