    Districts and state up next for Bulldog cross country
    Results from Gilbert and conference meets

          Cross country districts are this Thursday, Oct. 22 when Ogden will compete for spots in the state meet Saturday, Oct. 31 at Fort Dodge.

    AT GILBERT

          Ogden girls were short-handed at Gilbert last Thursday and finished in seventh place without top runners Olivia Diggs and Ally Fillmore. The boys placed 11th with 250 points, led by Jacob Shaw in 24th.

          Rachael Oien had the fastest Bulldog time in the girls meet with a time of 18:24 for 29th place. Michaela Halbur clocked in at 19:36 and finished 48th. Alissa Shannon placed 51st in 19:56; Rumor Clark, 54th, 20:19; Meghan Johnson 55th, 20:39; and Marissa Elsberry 61st, 22:36.

    Junior varsity

          Running JV were Katie Fillmore and Chelsea Price. K. Fillmore placed 39th in 23:57 and Price 43rd, with a time of 24:39.

          Shaw edged out teammate Bronson Mayse to finish first among the Bulldogs with a time of 19:01. Mayse came in at no. 25 in 19:02. Austin Highland placed 59th in a time of 20:27.
          Others placing were Wyatt Westberg, 70th, in 20:47; Andrew Pierce, 72nd, 20:59; and Josh Oren, 82nd, 22:59.

    Junior varsity

          Caid Rinker ran a time of 22:59 and placed 42nd among the junior varsity boys. In 48th was Devin Boettcher with a time of 23:39. Toby Clark placed 52nd in 23:57; Vaughn Sims, 58th, 24:33; Alec Williams, 59th, 24:44; and Jacob Oren, 66th, 26:39.

    Junior high

          Sydney Bishop finished 11th out of 24 junior high runners at Gilbert, crossing the line in 15:24. Megan Kimball placed 15th in 16:11.
          Leading the boys was Trey Thompson with a time of 14:15 for 14th place. Evan Klicker came in at 23rd in 15:49.

    HOIAC AT AMES

          Ogden cross country competed in the Heart of Iowa Conference meet Monday, Oct. 12 at the ISU course in Ames. Receiving all-conference recognition were Bronson Mayse and Jacob Shaw among the boys, and Ally Fillmore for the girls.
          The girls placed third in the small side while the boys finished fourth.

    GIRLS TEAM STANDINGS

          1. North Polk            18
          2. South Hamilton            64
          3. OGDEN            78
          4. Colfax-Mingo            90

          Ally Fillmore slid in at no. 11 with a time of 17:41 and was selected to the all-conference team. Rachael Oien came in 13th, crossing in 17:56. Finishing 16th in a time of 18:40 was Michaela Halbur. Alissa Shannon was 22nd in 19:41; Rumor Clark, 23rd in 19:45; Meghan Johnson, 25th, 20:18; and Marissa Elsberry, 28th, 21:07.

    Junior varsity

          Katie Fillmore placed 23rd among the JV runners with a time of 23:27; Chelsea Price ran a time of 24:25 for 25th place.

    BOYS TEAM STANDINGS

          1. North Polk            27
          2. South Hamilton            59
          3. Colo-NESCO            64
          4. OGDEN            87

          Mayse finished highest of the Bulldogs placing 6th in 19:16. Shaw crossed in 19:41 for 11th place. Coming in at no. 23 was Brian Good with a time of 21:04, trailed by Andrew Pierce in 21:13. Wyatt Westberg placed 28th in 21:31; Austin Highland, 29th in 21:33 and Caid Rinker, 32nd in 23:09.

    Junior varsity

          The JV boys were led by Luther Thompson who placed 10th in a time of 22:20. Others running were Josh Oren, 15th, 23:08; Devin Boettcher, 21st, 25:27; Vaughn Sims, 22nd, 25:31; Alec Williams, 24th, 26:05; and Jacob Oren, 26th, 29:28.
