    OHS basketball girls honored
    Abby Brend named to all-state team March 28, 2007

          Coach Dan Lake recognized the basketball award winners following the 2006-07 season.
          Abby Brend concluded her high school basketball career by being named to two all-state teams, IGCA All-State, third team, and Des Moines Register All-State, third team. She led Ogden to a 17-6 conference record. The girls finished second place on the large side of HOIAC with a 15-4 conference record.
          Also receiving all-state recognition was Tash Oren who was selected Academic All-State.
          Brend and Gustafson were recently named to the IGCA All-Region Team for Class 2A.
          Brend was also a unanimous first-team selection in the Heart of Iowa Conference. Jackie Gustafson was named second-team all conference and Lexi Olesen, honorable mention.
          This year's Bulldogs set numerous records on the season, including Brend's 986 points which put her at the top in career scoring.She completed her senior year with the highest point total in five on five school history with 414 points on the year.
          Gustafson broke into sixth place on the top 10 season scoring leaders list with 300 points for the year. She also became Ogden's 10th all-time leading scorer for five on five basketball with 562 points.
