    JERRY DUNKELBERGER

          Jerry Dunkelberger, 68, of Ogden, died Saturday, Oct.17, 2009 at Boone County Hospital. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. A private burial of ashes will be at a later date.
          Jerry was born Feb. 13, 1941 in Ogden, the son of Lester and Elsie (Samuelson) Dunkelberger. He attended Boxholm schools. Jerry was united in marriage to Sylvia Grabenstein June 18, 1966 at the Swede Valley Church in Ogden.
          Jerry was a self-employed trucker until 1972, when he went to work for Mid-Seven in Des Moines. After he retired, Jerry helped Terry Beckman with grain hauling and fall work. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, collecting John Deere toy tractors, and watching the Chicago Cubs.
          Survivors include his wife Sylvia of 43 years; daughter Micky (Jeff) Houseman of Polk City; son Mike (Trisha) of Ames; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ashlee Dunkelberger and Zach and Zoe Houseman; and three step-grandchildren, Samantha, Jordon, and Bailey.
          He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard.
          Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
          Carson - Stapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
