Bobby G. (Bob) Norris, 80, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009. Services were held Saturday at the Altoona United Methodist Church.
He was born April 6, 1929 in Indianola to Ora Earl Norris Sr. and Lillie (Dodson) Norris. He attended Indianola Community Schools, graduated from Simpson College and obtained a master's degree from Northeast Missouri State. Norris coached football at Ogden High School in the late 50's and early 60's before moving to Southeast Polk as an administrator.
Survivors include his wife Gwen, and his children Michael, Robin, Kirk and Jon. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his son Bill, 16 years ago, his parents and his siblings: Bernice, Ilo, Dortha, Vera, Arlene, Betty (his twin), Lola, Earl, Carol, Gene and Dudley. |
